The learning curve of SWAG and the human side of Kyle

Let me start by saying that , when Kyle launched the SWAG (or Super Wealthy Affiliate Group), I was probably one of the first to read about it, but I was possibly one of the few to turn it down. It did require a serious commitment, and which me moping about lack of time for virtually the whole of the last year, I felt I would defraud other members of this golden opportunity if I had agreed to join in.

Yet, I didn't have to wait too long before coming across Kyle's first monthly SWAG video lesson, where Kyle literally guides you through setting up your website from the basics. If you have missed it out, you can catch up with it here:

Month 1 of Kyle's SWAG video tutorial

Now, in accessing yet again another invaluable tutorial by Kyle, I couldn't help but thinking how lucky I had been to be able to access the video even if I was not officially part of the group. I expect when you are part of the SWAG group, Kyle would personally overview your progress.

And yet, in the true WA spirit, Kyle has made his teaching material available to all WA members. Isn't that just grand?!?! I don't know about you, but personally I found this very generous.

The other thing that struck me as I was going through Kyle's video is that, no matter how many WA courses you follow, you never stop learning. What amazes me is that yes, once again, with this video (and, I expect, future ones too) Kyle teaches you the same old story: how to build your website and your online business successfully.

Yet, from the Certification, to Bootcamp, and now to SWAG, I keep discovering and learning new things. Kyle gives away tips aplenty on the trade of the online market. He offers new techniques and gives absolutely sound advice. In other words, he makes our money as Premium members worth every penny.

But the bit of the first SWAG video that blew me off my chair was the very end.

Kyle is not stranger to recognising that it's not always easy to stick to the content publication regime of 3 posts or reviews per week. In previous tutorials he has mentioned before he too at the beginning had to juggle studies with a job with working online. When I read about his remarks in one of his posts last summer, I objected that when he had to do so he was some 20 years younger than I am now, and he didn't have a family and full time job in tow (but didn't voice my objections out of course).

But now, in this first SWAG video Kyle does mention and admits that sometimes he gets stuck for ideas too, and sometimes he has 'difficult' days (and I read this as unproductive days) too. In fact, he goes onto saying we should allow ourselves days off, and should not have to work 7 days a week. I do love that boy!!!

Moral of the story? Kyle is very much human like each and every of us after all, and for this reason I consider him very much fit for purpose for the training he delivers. He, the WA team working with him including Carson, and the ambassadors too, know where we are coming from when we hit frustration, tiredness, lack of motivation or of ideas, because they have been there, and because they still struggle like us and with us.

When members here say that this is the very best learning community you can wish for, they couldn't be more right :)

I agree, Giulia, with everything you said.

And, I have to say, how remarkable of you to turn the invitation down because of other members that could make a stronger commitment. That’s generosity. Good for you!!

Thanks for sharing, Giuila:) He is definitely human, and it gives me so much more motivation to realize that he, too, struggled at one point. It helps to keep everything in perspective!
Blessings:)

Great info! I've been here since 2006, and I too have been guilty of all the "excuses". Now after health problems, and job loss, I must do my best to prioritize my online efforts. I know I can succeed, I just need to get out of my own head first.

And do you know what, Jennifer? I am sure you will, without a shadow of a doubt. I see that when I work more consistently on my online business, the pennies start hitting my bank account. It is when I slow down in content delivery or marketing, that it all comes to a stand still. You will do it, you will succeed!

So true! Just need to remember to focus on one day at a time.

I am going to watch the videos too, I didn't realise they were available to us. Yep, it's got to be said, Kyle and Carson just rock, precisely because they are so human, so generous to us, and they really care about our success. There are loads of other top people here too who really make it what it is. We are lucky indeed.

Sometimes I read that at the end of the day Kyle and Carson are not here for the glory but to make money. That's fair enough. But I happen to believe that for what we get charged as Premium members, we get tons more training than what we expect. And the training and tutorial really are of high standards. So yes, I agree, we are lucky :)

Great post and thanks for sharing.
