Pay It Forward with Social Media

You've got to admit it, this Pay It Forward approach Kyle and Carson promote so passionately is the most generous act of humanity and kindness you can find here at WA - and a priceless value that I have never seen promoted nor mentioned anywhere else. If you will, it sounds nearly at the antipodes of the what business stands for: making profit and gain. And yet, Pay It Forward does work: by helping others, you gain traffic, become more prominent, climb up in ranking, become more visible, hence attract more visitors and ... well, more monetisation. So, how to push Pay It Forward to the maximum? How can we really help each other?

Creative Pay It Forward Ideas

Kyle is very keen on promoting this selfless concept of supporting others especially by leaving comments. And yes, undoubtedly comments are extremely valuable, as they can represent an extension to our posts and reviews - you can add links to the replies you give to your visitors' comments, and you can use comments to further promote your idea. But leaving comments is not the only way to support each others.

If you really want to support other members, colleagues and friends, that's what you want to do. You want to use social buttons on their websites as well as sharing their posts and reviews on your social accounts.

Too much to remember? Here's a useful list:

  1. Click on their website link
  2. Stay on the website for a few minutes
  3. Read their post or review, so you can leave your comment
  4. Do leave your comment
  5. Click the social buttons on their website
  6. Share that link on your social media accounts

I am not necessarily say you should do all of the above every time you want to support others' work. The main thing is for you keep leaving comments. But if you remember to action the additional tasks every so often, it's still extra help which will not hurt anybody.


The strength of Wealthy Affiliate

And this is where the the strenght of Wealthy Affiliate lies, in helping each other.

Yes, some may worry that going through so many motions may end up being too time consuming. The reality is that, once you get used to it, you will find it does not take as long as you may fear.

Personally, I am not the best at keeping on top of my schedule of work - time is my enemy! I think, however, if we set aside some half an hour twice a week to go on Site Comment or on the various threads here on WA to leave our comments and hit social buttons, the whole Pay It Forward exercise will end up proving not too honerous.

Thanks for the reminder. I need to do this more - not great with the social media buttons - I will have to get into the habit.

That's right, it's nothing else but a habit. I'm not one for social media myself, but they say you don't have to do the teenager thing of spending each moment of your life on social media - only a couple of days a week, and then do the sharing of posts whenever either you publish, or you comment on others' content.

Good points - I have to change with the times and I am sure that, like most things, once you commit to it, it will become second nature and not be complicated at all. It's just doing the learning curve and not shy away from it! Onward ho!!

I like it GiuliaB, this is how we should proceed helping other members who are in need of help and understanding of our system here at WA. This way we all prosper together.

I have been on the giving end so far. And I know, I will receive the result one fine day.

As you probably already know, I agree 100% and it's so easy for us to visit each other's WA Profile Pages and then visit each other's websites, social media etc.. that is listed there at the bottom right side below our pictures, posts and trainings.

Yes time is my enemy too. So much to do and so little time... with our day to day tasks and keeping heads above water. I think if we do this leisurely while winding down then it should not be seen as a chore :)

Absolutely Khy. We already have chores and tasks to perform which we all end up pressurising ourselves with. No need to add further stress, but something extra to do leisurely:)

As mentioned, Mike, I never came across such selfless stance on any other business oriented platform. But hey, guess what, people here are obliging - you support them and they support you. No 'cowboys' or con-men involved. Which to me it's absolutely brilliant!
