My experience at Wealthy Affiliate - week 7 of 52

I am writing my weekly update tonight as tomorrow I want to concentrate on more writing and publishing on my websites. There, I've already given away half of the game!!

I am finding my rhythm!

This week I had more time to organise my ideas. Unfortunately I only had one day off work, but what I have started doing in the meantime is put together a working practice for my posts.

In other words, as soon as I get ideas, I should start jotting them down on a draft post on my websites, to then bring them to an end after doing research.

A few weeks ago I read of a WA member that had completed a post in an hour. I self-imposed this target since reading that blog, but this week I have come to the conclusion that we all work differently. For now I am still well far off from being able to finish a post in an hour - I do have ideas but I am still very slow at researching, and at finding suitable affiliate programs that offer merchandise or services that match my line of thought.

My new tactic, at least for now therefore, is going to be to draft, research and complete later in the week.

What I've been up to this week

For now I have started 3 posts but only managed to publish one so far. In reality I know that tomorrow I am only going to complete another one, but I would like to start drafting ideas for a service from an affiliate program, which I can use on both my websites - and I am really looking forward to push this idea forward as I really believe in the concept. For the curious of you, keep an eye on both my sites - the best hint I can give you is that it is to do with making money going on holiday... for me to know, for you to find out!

But aside of drafting, I had conversations with Affiliate Window (one of the best UK affiliate programs, I am told) as my account for somewhat reason had come to a standstill, and I also spent time improving the looks of my Living With A Border Terrier site.

On the Bootcamp front, I am proceeding, albeit slowly. But this week I have neglected the community here.

The aim

Again, like every week, this week too I have had to remind myself that there are only so many hours in a day and so many days in a week. This said, my aim in an ideal world would be to publish between 2-3 posts a week, whilst maintaining in touch with WA community and carrying on working on revamping both websites and old posts.

Whether I can stick to this grand plan, is a different kettle of fish!!

As per usual, I hope I have been of assistance to some of you in outlining my failings and my areas of improvement. By now you should know my favourite motto: DO AS I SAY, NOT AS I DO!!

Thanks Louisa, that's a really nice comment!

Way too o go Giulia. It sounds like you have indeed found your rhythm. Things should go a whole lot smoother for you moving forward.
Jerome

I hope you are right Jerome. Some weeks the typing, the writing, they all flow much faster, some other weeks I get muddled up. Those weeks are painful!!

Good plan Giula. Thanks for sharing this,

You are most welcome my friend!

Good to plan and assess afterewards as you are doing Giula.

I hope you are right Mark. Thank you!

Glad to know there is someone struggling with some of the same issues I am...time, mainly...I work full time and then spend several hours after work on animal issue (rescues, feral cat TNR programs, managing feral cat colonies which are groups of cats that live together), and it takes me way more than an hour to write a post, but I am thinking of trying to make posts shorter. Some of mine are well over 1000 words.

I started with shorter posts, Linda, but then I found here that the recommendation for SEOs to,like your posts is that they have to be in the region of 1500 words or more. Yet, whenever I come across well established websites, I find their posts are not as long.
But I have noticed Kyle's posts match the length requirements!!

This bears a little more checking into. I have seen it work both ways.

Good plan, Giulia!

Well, I can only but trying it, pilot it and then if it doesn't work, I'll have to rethink it!
