My experience at Wealthy Affiliate - week 34 of 52 part 2

I am writing this update at 11.20pm, whilst my eyelids keep shutting down. But I want to give you my weekly update before the end of a fairly good week.

A good week

Yes, all in all it has been a fairly proactive week. I managed to post 2 posts - something I hadn't managed to do for a long time.

But I also managed to redesign the menu of my dog related website. I have now made it more user friendly and the navigation makes more sense. And I have started doing the same with my home based income opportunities website. It's amazing how time consuming it may be to refresh your sites and your old posts! But that's something that sometimes we must do to make our websites still appealing to the viewers out there.

I am still looking for best autoresponder platforms, possibly free of charge to start off with. And I am looking at a cheap or free plugins that may convert my Amazon links to geo-friendly redirections, in order to be paid commissions for those orders that are placed on the non-UK Amazon sites. Any suggestions out there? I used Genius for many months, but found that I was keeping paying a monthly fee for very low clicks and no overseas orders, so I decided to quit that avenue.

But the main thing I managed to do is yet another video training. I loved to do the training, especially as I got myself a new microphone which makes my voice clearer. This way I could tick the box of one of Kyle's tasks to complete level 4 of the Bootcamp, so I can finally move on.

If you have a minute, check my last video training on how to edit and leverage bad comments - it's directly accessible from my profile.

Am I forgetting marketing?

Writing is as important as marketing. But equally marketing is necessary to expose your writing to the wider audience.

So no, I haven't forgotten such an important part of this business. But, I just could not get around to it. Same old problem: LACK OF TIME!!!

For the week ahead, that's what I am going to focus on: working on social media more actively, whilst getting on with more writing.

Last week I had a good old moan about how difficult it is to fit all this business in when you can only work part time at it. I stand by my moan. In an ideal world, if I were to work at this job full time, I would have time to go through lessons, to learn about new ventures, as well as to write more and to keep more active on social media.

That ideal world is why I am doing all this. That ideal world is my aim, and one day, one day maybe that world will be reality.

Wish you all a serene and proactive week!!!

Thanks for sharing your update Giulia:). It is normal to take a little longer to get things done if you can only work on it part-time. I suggest you do what you can and don't worry about it. If you get frustrated you get even less done:))

Do you know what, I think sometimes frustration is my worst enemy- the more I fret and, you are right, the less I get done. The secret, I suppose, is to keep this good momentum going.

That's awesome Giulia and I hope that this becomes a routine and am sure soon you will be seeing good results.

I hope you are right, as the last couple of months have been dreadful in terms of sales and referrals.

You did amazingly well .. and by the way, it's good to have a moan but you don't stay stagnant, you move to the next stage. That's what I call the fighter

Have another great day with WA. How can you lose when you have so many members cheering you to the finishing line.

Regards Richard

The support I get from so many of you guys is what keeps me going on those moan-a-lot days. If feel blessed and privileged :)

Giulia - Yes I'm in your camp. If I could do this full time I'd be much further along. I think unlocking the secrets of social media is the key. Thanks for sharing your experience.

You are most welcome Patrick. I'm learning through Bootcamp that marketing is a major part, but the advent of social media has been a god send for promoting online business. The problem I have is, as you mention, time, time, time - or lack thereof!!

You made good progress this past week, and will likely do the same this week. Thanks for taking your precious time to do this post and I do not feel alone with my slower progress. Everything takes time and when you're new to all this "behind the scenes" stuff that makes your site work right, it makes my progress slower than I anticipated it would. was tinkling I'd be on my next site by now, but a friend wisely advised me that a site is never completely done. Best advice ever!
PAt B

I agree, Pat, whatever you embark in as a novice will take much longer than anticipated. And you remain a novice for a very long time, as the minute you start mastering one aspect of this job, you come across something else which will take you right back to the start.
I made the mistake of starting my second website too soon. Both are proceeding alright, but now I struggle to create content consistently for both sites. So, if I were you, I'd stick to the one website till it's fully established.

Beautiful post. Always reach for the ideal!

Oooh yes, ideal is my carrot dangling before my nose :)

Lovely, if you were doing this full time you would be soaring up there with the eagles :)

As I said to Mike below, I'm still campaigning for 48 hour days #lol

Hi Guilia,
I can totally relate to how long everything takes and how slow progress is -- for me it has been incredibly slow because I wasted so much time and money jumping around and chasing shiny objects. I have stopped doing that now and am focused on my pupcorner.com site ( I still intend to do a post about Border Terriers--I haven't forgotten my progress is just SLOW!) and on my website for my SEO business. I haven't been wasting time I'm always busy learning. I completed a certificate course in SEO and another class I Google Analytics, followed by a test which gave me a certification in Google Analytics.

I still intend to do a post in Pupcorner about those Border Terriers. After your comment in pupcorner, I did a lot of searching and reading about Border Terriers and watching tons of yourtube videos. No wonder you love them they are so CUTE! Also, I couldn't stand to know that there are dog breeds out there that I haven't heard of or know nothing about. Anyway, I really can relate to your post and I wanted to let you know that I still intend to keep my promise!

Barbara

Barbara, no problem at all. I can see how you may progress more slowly than you thought - you are gaining a lot of knowledge, and soon enough you'll be able to promote yourself as the guru of online business.
Have a look at my Border site again if you wish, Barbara. I have created a Guest Writers page, which is going to have blog rolls from, well yes, guest writers. Do email me if you wish, or DM me here. I'm happy of course to credit your contribution :)

A great post Giulia. Writing and marketing are two mainstay pillars of our efforts here. You really cant have one without the other. Especially now that both are enhanced by social media sharing!

I know, tell me about that!!! I did some social media work today, but I'm still campaigning for 48 hour days #lol

Thanks for sharing, Giulia.

You are welcome Roger :)
