My experience at Wealthy Affiliate - week 21 of 52 part 1

Here I am again, giving a brief recount of my doings last week.

As you may remember, I did struggle the last couple of weeks trying to get back to my usual level of productivity - which was already not as high as it is deemed to be needed to really push your website up in ranking.

Last week I was happier

Last week my brain got in gear more actively. Admittedly again I only published one post. But I started regaining focus, and started planning ahead for topics to write about.

I am trying to organise my workload more effectively, so that I can publish every couple of days and searching for new material whilst marketing my post on social media.

I did not manage to move forward with the Bootcamp lessons, which was a shame. But I did start getting involved with this community again, which is always a bonus, as you can learn from here more than if you browsed the internet forever.

Will I manage more this week?

I just posted a new article tonight. Provided I can manage to keep up the pace, I would like to ideally publish again on Thursday and on Saturday. That would take me to a total of 3 posts for this week, which would be tremendous achievement for me after the 2 not very good weeks I have had recently.

I need to remind myself this game is fine balancing act of quantity and quality of content. But I need to push productivity more if I want to start attracting more referrals.

A quick word on referrals

Did I mention that lately I have started attracting referrals? Nothing to brag about, mind you, as they just about register and most of them do not even go through the stage of completing their profile, let alone upgrading their membership to Premium. But it's a start, I suppose.

Naturally, you are welcome to make suggestions as to how I can improve on this. I feel I have so much to learn!

As ever, I wish you all a pleasant, serene and productive week. Share you thoughts below as to how best regain concentration and on which techniques you adopt to improve your 'mojo'.

Thank you

Giulia

Great news.

Thank you :)

Great work on getting more referrals.

It is good, Pablo, in so far that it tells me somewhere my referral links are being noticed and I am starting striking people's interest chord. But it is rather meaningless, if people get scared off when they are here, to the point not to even complete their profile.

It's good to figure out when your most productive time of day is. Mine is first thing in the morning very early. It's quiet and less distracting and my energy level is high. It's good to know that about yourself.

Same here. And I try to take advantage when I'm not called by other family or work duties. Definitely though, I have to be on my own, me and my dog :)

Didn't I tell you one week ago it would get better? Happy to see that you are back on track! Keep going Giulia!

And you were soooo right, Eric. Thank you for your good auspicious vibe!

Well Giulia, you appear to be very organized. Your drive and determination are admirable. Don't worry about the times when you don't achieve much, we all have them!

Yes, I suspect this boost of productivity will be followed by a downturn. I can relate very much to what it must feel like to be a yo-yo :)

I love how you post about your progress every week, Giulia.

I'll share with you some advice tbat was given to me just today: Do something for your business every day.

If you can write, write. If you can't write, do some research; read some tutorials; watch some YouTube videos that relate to your niche or something that will benefit your progress.

I do something for my business most days, but certainly not all days, but I'd like to develop this habit. Keep up the great work, Giulia!

That's great advice Veronica. And you are right, it doesn't have to be writing, but even by being in touch with this community you can come across tutorials, or ideas for one of your future posts, or learn about new income possibilities and marketing opportunities out there. So yes, I guess I've got to get in that frame of mind :)

I've found an iPhone app (focus keeper, I started with the free version then purchased the upgrade, a one off cost of a few dollars) that helps me with both focus and productivity. Just a timer would work the same. I work in 30min chunks, then 15min break between (that's usually filled with manic housework). I aim for 12 focus sessions a day which is 6 hours of work. To begin with, I started with 20min chunks of work, with the rule being simply to focus on only one task.

This may be good if you apply it to your boot camp progress?

And if something else pops up during a work session, I make a note of it and do it at the beginning of the next work chunk or during the breaks, whereas without a timer I tend to jump from one thing to another without really finishing anything. Thanks for sharing your post, and I definitely agree with your mention that there's more to learn within this community than on the internet.

Angela, you are my saviour!
I've just started trying to keep an eye on my calories intake with an app, and it works. I think using an app to do focus concentrating boost ups is a brilliant idea. Can I have the name of the app, is it on the Apple Store?

It's called focus keeper and yes, it can be found in the Apple AppStore

Thanks Angela, I should definitely give it a go :)

Thanks for your honest self assessment of yourself. The main thing is that you are regaining focus. Continue to set attainable goals and enjoy your "mini-wins" by creating one new post. If you can create two new post a week, that's 8 a month! Imagine the potential in having 8 post with great content! Some within WA were able to make $250-$1000 a month with one post because they focused on producing meaningful content, good SEO Keywords, and great link placement. I wish you the best and congratulations in advance.

Tristen

I feel I still have much to learn when it comes to keywords and such likes, Tristen. And I believe I need to be more productive for now, in order to gain that space higher up in ranking, before being able to make earnings on a post a week. But then, if I only post once a week, it will be one post more than none :)

Keep on wisely progressing in your journey Giulia!

Thank you Michael, I should try my hardest :)

Thanks for sharing, Giulia.

You are welcome Roger :)
