It's Alive!
Had to report that I just started sharing my website, instead of the referral links, on Facebook about 4 days ago. I looked at my home page today and there have been 50 FB shares and a few twitter shares from readers! Very few clicks on WA from my website, but it is progress and it looks like some people are actually reading the home page at least! It is encouraging.
Last week I sent out a question and received feedback from others to promote my website instead of the affiliate links and followed their advice...go figure. Also, I was in touch with a member today that really helped me get unstuck so to speak, so now I know what to research to add more content.
Thank you everyone! I have been spending time on the emails sent from WA and reading the blogs and questions and following other members. It is helping so much.

Unfortunately, I think the FB share numbers are inflated somehow, but still I am getting traffic and shares so I am glad. A lot of visitors from the UK in my site stats. Pretty cool I think!
Any progress is good, my stats are rising, I don't use FB for promoting though, this is through mainly organic SEO. :)
I am working toward what you are doing.. getting organic SEO traffic through rankings. I only started to promote on FB because I needed to get something started. I have a lot of work to do to build content and I need to move DNS to replace my siterubix. I was not really trying to advertise for FB at WA. My true intention was to show how the community at WA is helping me.
Facebook can be great for business, you seem to be better at it than I was! Got the hang of Twitter now I think though! :)
I also want to add... on the left side of the screen under Tools there is a link called Keyword Lists. They are lists published from Jaxxy. I found one there perfect for my site. You might find it useful too.
When you say you started sharing your website instead of using facebook. How are you sharing your website?
Gina I am still putting my website together. When I google free advertising on facebook it directed me to pay. So I haven't started using facebook or any social media yet. So when you said you were sharing your website instead of facebook. I wonder how you were sharing.I first have to put my website together but how are you getting leads from sharing?
Two ways: First, I have a personal page and I joined groups that are set up for marketing. I post my website directly in those groups in the morning and evening. I don't send this stuff to my friends and family. I only post in the groups. Second, I set up a second page under the name of my website and I did pay a small fee to advertise for likes. Before you do that get back with me.
Gina I like the idea not sending family and friends they are negative. How do you join groups on a personal page? It would go to family and friends. How do you set up a second page? Is it with Pagemodo? They said with Pagemodo Basic is $1.98 but for Pro for $4.38 a month is perfect for starting a business. How did you set up your second page?

You find groups that are public that promote business postings online. Then you put your affiliate link with a note directly in the group post. You will see it in your timeline, but your "friends" will not see it. You can create another page within FB for your WA project. Pagemodo is an application and you do not need it. Careful when you sign up for a 2nd page in FB. You can choose business or personal. I chose personal. Also I opted to pay for a promotion, but you do not have to. Just carefully pay attention when you are setting it up.
