There are few things as frustrating as setting up an online store. I wish I had an instant, easy answer for you.
I've used wp-ecommerce plugin for a client. The problem I had with it was that Wordpress updates tended to kill it.
I've also used Prestashop. I found it to be a decent option.
I tried a couple of elegant theme's ecommerce themes (back when the yearly membership price was much less) but couldn't get the appearance to suit me. Cute birds holding item squares clashed with the client's heavy metal parts.
After trying several methods, I saw why people pay shopify, volusion, etc. a monthly fee not to have to deal with website setup.
Hopefully someone with more experience (and success) in ecommerce will have an answer.
Thanks! I decided to change my theme to one that is made for ecommmerce. I like it so far but it changed the formatting of previous posts so now I have to figure out how to reformat them the way I want. Such a process

What is the best plugin to use to build my affiliate store?

while looking for some infos for myself i 'stumbled' over this old post which had no answer. Can anyone answer this now? I have right quite some issues for building a site and still have to see which one is the 'easiest' one for me...
There is no plugin which will offer a complete store in a box but for affiliate links the best in my opinion is content egg
If your theme supports Woocommerce, that might be the best choice. They have an option to add affiliate products which redirects to an external link. No adding to cart, calculating tax or other complicated stuff, just external linking and adding product info.
I just installed it and tested it out today. Looks like it serves the purpose, in a painless way for me. If there are better options out there, I would love to hear from the experts.
Please find attached screenshot for reference.

You don't need to connect your website to Polyvore. When you click, "post to your blog", there should be a HTML code you can copy and paste into the editor of your WP blog. Make sure you paste the code into the "text' editor section, it should work when you click save and view your blog post.
I use Polyvore sometimes as I have a fashion site too, but the way I've done it is just used a screenshot software program (like droplr or monosnap) to take a snap of the "look" and then post that screenshot to my blog... that way i can add my own descriptions and an affiliate link if i choose to... since the ones they provide you just go directly to the website with no affiliation.
Thank you so much. I have been struggling with this all day as I had a few looks for the NFL draft that I wanted to get posted. This helps a lot

Hi Guys,

GIANNA, How was it creating the website? Still not have done mines yet. I 've been experiencing computer problems so it was down.
Sorry for the late response, I had a lot going on this week and was not able to do much with my website. I have my 'about me' page and my first blog written out I just have to post it. I hope you were able to finally get your website done.
I think it would be best to start with a plan of what you want to write about and keywords. You should have at least a few pages of content, then look for affiliate programs in that niche.

Thank you for responding. I think I will go with sport apparel for women. I think that I can focus on a smaller area that will make a bigger impact.
Hi Gianna, I have to agree with Trialynn. If you are just as enthusiastic about the sports attire as you are beauty products, go with the sports attire. I think it is a smaller niche, and more profitable.
If you go yo Jaaxy and do a search you will see why.
Which are you most "fanatical" about? I see you as being successful at either. Just pick one and go with it. I do not see how you can lose on either one at this point. If I had to make a choice for you, I would choose the sports line, only because I see much less of "for her" on the net than I do beauty products.
