Not sure if I understand, you have http://yoursubdomain.yourwebsite.com and you want to shorten that url because it’s a long domain name with the subdomain included?
My subdomain is: mkjstore.misskimberlyjoy.com
but I just want to call it store.misskimberlyjoy.com
Or should I just delete it? Seems like a waste of time. Good thing I don't have any posts but for an older one, I would need to backup everything and export it into a new subdomain. Seems like a lot of work for nothing. I'm use to Blogger and as long as the URL was available you could change the URL as many times as you wanted.

you should be able to add html to your siterubix site without a problem.
have you installed the file manager as a ftp client.
are you using the block editor or the classic

I never installed the file manager as a FTP client. And it seems to be a basic editor. The editor looks different than my registered domain one and it's not clear on how to switch the editors.

with the file manager you can get access to the siterubix files to add html pages if you want to.
use it as you would filezilla rather than as an editor.
if you add the classic editor plugin you will get the other editor.
you will need to goto settings =>writing and click on use classic editor - or allow to switch.
you can then edit with either.

If you would like to do that the latest theme of wordpress is fully block editor and allows you to block edit your widgets as well
Some themes or webbuilders will do that for you also
