Core “Business Start Up” Training

I have done the WA training and it is very good information. I am stuck coming up with niche. My thoughts for niches: (with xmas coming up, and Black Friday, along with Cyber M

Some questions that have helped me narrow things down.
What do you like about toys?
What type of toys do you like?
Is there an area of the toys niche that you have special knowledge in?
Have you written any product reviews of toys that you have purchased?
Is your focus more with 'natural' toys or electronic toys?
What are the target demographics of your target market? Adults, children, middle-aged, teenagers. etc.? Male, female, both?
When talking to friends and family about toys that you like, what do you say?

Hope that helps. Just some things to stimulate the bio-electric processes of the brain. :)

That surely narrows thing down to the essentials.

ggarcia31: I think that picking a niche in order to be able to take advantage of Christmas, Black Friday and Cyber Monday may be a little wishful thinking. As Kyle has said (and everyone else) the niche for your website has to be something that REALLY interests you. WHY? Because if you are going to be successful you have to turn that niche into something that someone whats to read (so they see your Affiliate widgets or however you are going to monetize your website. etc). You are (you must) become an authority on your niche or few people are going to want to read it, think about it, and then buy etc.

But let me share a little secret. Whether or not you are a great writer for your website and blog is not as important as the tone of the website. For example in our World people like to be entertained (a little or a lot of humor may be the "secret sauce."

What about a website full of really enthusiastic YouTube videos where you get in front of a computer camera and mic and tell the world about the various items you what to discuss on the blog.

Maybe you are a great artist. Maybe some really thought out cartoon characters would exicite people. Do you see where I am going with this?

Toys
Game consoles, and games!
Kids clothes or infant clothing

These could all be great niches (albeit a little broad in scope) so pick and choose one so long as you are passionate about it and you can bring your website "alive" through your presentation approach. These are my thoughts on the matter. DAN

I agree. I have a family member who LOVES action figures. He did as a kid so much so that he wanted to work in the industry.

And now he's out in California working in a corporate toy company setting. But he loves it. If he hated toys and action figures, there's no way he would have survived in that industry for 10+ years now...

I agree that you should find something you are passionate about. That should be your niche. There will then be a lot less thinking and a lot more easily flowing material to blog about! :)

alpsntacos: Great response to both ggarcia31 and to my comments. I agree with everything you said. DAN

think of something you have knowledge about, facts and when love it

your niche needs to be something you love and want to write about...a niche is for lifetime...not just christmas...
in honesty every other affiliate is also promoting black friday, cyber monday and christmas....so you'll compete with everyone...only way to stand out is to LOVE your product and write loads of highly focused targeted posts that bring the traffic

thank you for your insight. I am new to all of this and i am looking for the right direction.

youre welcome...just choose something you really love...even the oddest and seemingly bizarre niches make money...in fact they often do the best as they have less competition and if you love it...then there's thousands others who love it as well
