I notice there are premium members on here who haven't written a blog, asked a question etc for years and are lowly ranked. Do they just keep their premium tag if they leave? Or is it just that they are still paying maybe to get the hosting but don't need as much input these days?

The Premium membership is lifetime but when the subscription payment is cancelled, the account is deactivated.

However, it can be reactivated at any time and everything is still there, followers, posts, etc.

Once a Premium, one cannot revert to being a free/starter member. There is no such thing as downgrading to free. However, one can log in but there is no access to the content until the subscription payment is resumed.

And, yes, many premium members continue to pay while otherwise inactive. Why? Probably because they are continuing to be paid referral commissions which offsets the cost. Depending on the number of referrals, In some cases it would not make economic sense to stop the membership payment. ~Jude

To stay premium you have to continue to pay. i had to leave when my husband lost his job. I did not continue to pay and was dropped back down to free member. When I came back I upgraded again to premium.

but I didn't think you could downgrade again.

That's a pity really to still show them as active of they aren't. Makes me unsure whether to engage with people!

Oh I think It's always a good idea to engage with the people who resonate with you and maybe have certain things in common with you and/or your goals.....the others will do as they will, as in any realm of life!

There was one member and I liked their posts and stuff but they were a couple of years old and she had cancer. I couldn't help but wonder the worst. I think little sign "active member" or something would be good so people know they are not wasting their time commenting on something.
