Hi, Everyone...

More questions on WA cash credits and the effect of using them for the premium membership cost for both the referrer and the referred person...

Background:

If a trial month premium member referral switches to a payment method of WA cash credits from a credit card or PayPal during their first month of premium membership, it appears the WA cash credits are immediately taken and the commission to the referrer is reduced to $17.50 from $23.50...

I am wondering the following:

(1) What is the effect on the premium membership due date for the referral?

(2) Do they lose the trial month period already paid for?

(3) Are the reduced commissions ongoing or is this an anomaly/glitch in the system?

Points of discussion:

The member is within their trial month at a reduced membership rate and if they switch and the credits are immediately taken, the next monthly payment should be 30 days following the end of the trial month, is that correct?

They have already paid for the trial month, and if those additional credits were taken immediately, they either should be extended for the month past the trial month or they are losing days of the reduced month membership that they have paid for...

There is a reduced commission earned for the referrer when this happens too, from $23.50 to $17.50 - is this then an ongoing thing or is it a one-time thing?

That information is important to know for planning purposes because if the rate of commission is reduced when using the WA cash credit payment option, it is less attractive (i.e. 26% less than if using the credit card or PayPal payment method)...

Also, if this is the case for the following months, it is better to use an alternate method that will not adversely affect the commissions the referrer gets for the referred member...

Bottom Line...

This is information that is good for everyone to know for their planning purposes. Once I have answers I will publish a tutorial for all. This ties in with an earlier question that I had on transferring and using WA cash credits for monthly premium membership...That will be addressed as well...

Thanks and I am very sure that this will have to be answered by the folks at the top, but just to let everyone know, I am digging down to make us all better informed!

Cheers!

I am getting answers from my referrals as we move forward for them...

The way the system works is that when the referrals change the payment gateway, a new billing takes place and the month of premium service starts again...

The commission is pro-rated and will revert to the normal rate for the following month...This clears up this question(s) for me, so unless you know, you don't know...

Now we all can know, so the questions are worth asking and getting answers to, and no need to bother Kyle and Carson...Sometimes it pays to do your own sleuth work!

Cheers!
