In purchasing my domain, I could get a .com if I switch from the word 'baby' to the word 'babies'
Or I can get my current website name on .net.
Help! Which one should I do?

Just adding to other suggestions.
You have a few options
1. If you still like to have .com extension, you need to tweak a bit your domain name. e.g. babies.com (as Marion suggested), babyworld.com (not sure if this available) but you get what I meant.
2. If you want to stick with the domain name and .net is still available, go for it.
.com and .net are the most established and most recognized extension.
