Good morning Sylvana,
Thank you for your question, I know that you have already received a couple of answers.
Personally, I think is better to start with your own domain name. I appreciate that everything may be new to you, however, if you know your niche, I would then purchase a domain.
Wishing you all the best.

So have you chosen your niche yet Lesson 3?
Your niche will help you select a domain name.
We would recommend that you create your first website as a Free one - the free opt[ion. This will; give you an opportunity to learn how this works and then if you liken your content you can MOVE all of your pages, posts, images, theme, settings, plugins to a dot com you purchase. This way in case you change your mind about your website or anything you can always delete the free website and start a new one.
once you buy a dot com domain name you are the owner for one year.

Aha, I don't have a registered Domain. So that answers that. I'm happy to select the free option then and follow Kyle's video tutorial. Thanks

You can only select Domain I own if you have registered a domain name. The free option allows you to create a sub-domain of SiteRubix. It's not actually a domain name. My preference is to always go for a real domain but the free one does allow you to explore possibilities without commitment.
