I built the skeleton of a site (without content) on a domain I own, but I am not satisfied with it.

Rather than customising it, can I :

* Delete the site ?

* Will I retain the domain so I can start all over again ?

Thanks in advance.

Good topic,my question is ,does google penalise a site for changing content? Is there anything that should be done in regard to changing content to protect future rankings?

No Google doesn't penalize you for changing content. Many of us will refine a post at a later time.
The only thing that you should be sure not to change is the Permalink of the page/post.

You can always make changes in your pages and posts, in fact this is looked upon favorably by Google because it shows activity on the site. Normally you start with a low ranking and the idea is to improve it and not to preserve it. You know where you need to be, on the first page of Google, and on the top of it if possible.

Deleting a site is just that Theuns deleting the structure of the site. A domain name is real estate you own and whilst you continue to pay the annual domain registration fee you can never lose it or delete it

You own the domain....if you want you can delete it and even choose another theme if you wish....where is it hosted? If already published and have any following you might also need to do a redirect...

Yes the domain is yours no matter if you delete your website. Just go to Site Builder and build another site using your domain.

It you have only made a framework of your site, it might be easier just to delete those pages instead.
