I have been getting emails that I have a new subscriber. I thought this was great until I looked at google analytics/webmaster.

I have absolutely NO traffic. Not surprised because I have been lacking in the effort department, but somehow I am getting found.

The subscribers appear real., but where did they come from?

Should I send them an email?

Has anyone else ever seen something like this? I'm confused but that shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone here.

Thanks for your help.

Brenda

Are you talking about new subscriber to WA or to your own website?

I've got the same prob with recruits/subscribers to WA. They never complete the setup here and I would love to know where they're coming in at so that I can improve those portals and hopefully get new ones to finish setting up their profile. I just don't know how to track where they're coming in at! Feelin' your pain, kiddo!!!

Yep I had a couple at WA that didn't fill out the profile I do know where they came from. At first I was happy "hey some one found my site" then when the tools didn't show anything,,, What gives here?

Pain is relative. Much better than the back, knees, ankles... This is good pain. At least I'm motivated to do something!

You should have the information from your website. If someone goes to your site and leaves their email. It should tell you on your site if it's spam.

To the clueless newbie they look exactly the same as the user I set up for myself (except mine is admin). This is on the user screen, where else should I be looking?

I've had this happen to me before! They could be people who spam and comment on people's blogs, I've seen it happen!

Makes sense. Can they do that without showing up on the webtools? Is that what bots do? Guess that would make sense that I'm not seeing traffic.

True. Hadn't thought of that. I go back and read old blog all the time, so why wouldn't I think of that. Thanks for that thought.
