Hi Wamily, I try to add a new property to my google analytics account and if it offers me to set up a data stream. I can't remember to have it done for my first site, it might be new but informs me that I have to be sure I don't send personally identifiable information of my users.

Well, I am not very technical and have been reading a bit about this details but could somebody with knowledge about this please inform me what action I have to take to make sure I won't do this.

Or should I not set up the stream? Then it says it just measure standards information. How do I check what information my other site send to google?

Any experience with advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot,

Jude

Hi Jude I understand what you are saying as i'm stuck at this point as well. The platform has changed and what we are shown in the various training's is not the same pages as the new platform.
This is what comes up now in the image below. I can't find how to get the UA number? Which I assume is what you are looking for.

Hi Lisa, I am happy to read you have found the code, but this was not what I meant with my question.
If you click web as in your screenshot, you will see an option for enhanced something to set up a stream. I don't know if you noticed, but it says that you have to make sure you don't send personally identifiable information from your users to Google.
I was reading about best practice tips from Google how I can ensure I obey with this rules but the answers are technical and I am not lol, so I was wondering how other members go with this...
Have a great day.

Hey Jude,

Google searching your questions (see screen print below...), I was offered the following guide: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6164209?hl=en by Google that you may find helpful.

Hope this helps you.

Thanks, Tribu, I did do a google search but the method Google offered included coding.
I am not familiar with coding, and the answer suggested is too technical for me to understand and apply fully. I was hoping to find some clarification on how other members go with this.
Thanks for your suggestion.

The guide talks about When to Use Pin.

You said you don't want to use a pin, correct?

If you do not want to use a pin then you only need to makes sure that you do not follow the Google guide in setting one up to be used.

What are you referring to a "stream"? Are you offering movies to be watched from your website?

If that is the case, you won't be using Google Analytics, as the instructions clearly state that you will need to use your Google account (the same gmail address you use to access your Google Analytics) and "Under "Security," select Signing in to Google." then create your pin from there.

Nothing is said about coding.

If you need help setting up Google Analytics, here's Kyle's training: OR... a more updated tutorial:
