By using the target="_blank" inside an html code. For instance you want to add google.com link. So the html will be Google

oopppss... It doesn't show... OK, I'll add space between '<' and 'a', between 'blank"' and '>' and between < and / and between a and > .... here you go, hope it works this time. < a href="http://www.google.com target="_blank" >Google< /a >

yes, isn't that cool though!!!
I had to ask someone, because I was taught to not open up a new tab, so I caught myself telling my traffic to remember to refresh after clicking the link! For me it is better to click a link that turns into a new tab because that way, its easier for even me to get back to the site!

Hi GS,
Thanks for you time and help. As I was looking for my answer, I got on WP help line and found that I could just click that option in the Advance Setting. Worked perfect. Thanks again and take care. Todd

target="_blank" is the easiest way. There are many more ways. WP makes it easy for most of us to do this automatically.

Hi there, I'm confused. Where do you place target="_blank". I'm using WP and don't see any options. Thanks

When editing your post you should have the ability to highlight a word or phrase. Once highlighted you can go to the format section of your post. You should be able to see a "chain link and another that looks like a broken chain link".

Click on the chain link and you will get a popup that says "Insert/edit link". Copy and paste your desired link. Then tick the box where it says "Open link in a new window/tab" this will automatically open the link in a new tab.

If you look at the HTML in the text tab it will have the target="blank" inserted for you.

I hope this helped.
