When I first joined WA my websites were hosted elsewhere. That hosting provider provided website statistics, one of which was awstats.

I asked the question "does wa hosting include website statistics, like awstats?" a while back on my activity dashboard.

I am using Google analytics.

However I cannot seem to find 'misses to my website' where someone tries to access a webpage no longer there, I can't find the number of these and the webpage that they tried to access.

My websites have been up for a while and over time, I have applied many changes, so it is possible that people are trying to access 'old' pages which are no longer there. I want to know the 'old' pages to determine should I put up a new version of that page.

Carson suggested using Google to learn how to track 404s with Google Analytics, one such link being:

Hope this information helps you out.

Cheers,
David

that's a much more complicated answer than would be possible here - but with google analytics you can indeed do exactly what you want to do. If you head over to my other site (disclaimer: non WA related, but i'll help anyway) https://milestonecomputerserivices.co.uk and drop me an email to my address through there we can talk in more depth (or feel free to give me a bell if you're in the UK). I'm a registered and certified Google Analytics Partner, so can arrange a time to do a screenshare to show you how (i'm not charging - just remind me you're from WA)

Hi Christopher, thanks for dropping by and thanks for your offer.

I asked Carson the question in a private message a while back, and he pointed me to google analytics along with a web link. I read the web link, and hope to re-read and implement its solution sometime in the future.

Do you prefer to be called Christopher or Chris?

Thanks again for the offer.
Cheers,
David
