Sorry to be repeating this question, but I'd really like some help and haven't found an answer on my own.

Bootcamp Phase 3 Lesson 8 has focuses on Jaaxy and suggests using the Jaaxy Search "Plugin" (it's actually just some HTML code to put in your post) on one of your pages.

In the video lesson, Kyle mentions that you copy/ paste the code and it won't appear in your post until you actually publish it. Well, for me, it sort of appears (I get two small icons that appear where I placed it in the post) but when I publish, there is nothing. Just a blank space.

I looked it up here and have seen that a few other people have had similar issues, but I haven't found a solution. I went to site support and after sever messages back and forth, they told me "the code doesn't work. Try asking the community."

So, I am asking again. Has anyone managed to get this working?

EDIT TO ADD: My apologies to Bethcharron and Foobard. I deleted the previous question to submit this one before I realised that you both had posted a comment there, so if you don't mind repeating whatever you wrote, I'd appreciate it!

it's funny, I was wondering what happened with that. I didn't notice any replies, so at first, I assumed that someone else's response had fixed it. But then I noticed several of my recent replies to questions have been deleted and my rank tanked, so I was doing some follow-ups to see what was going on, perhaps the much talked about upcoming algorithm updates?, and I came across your re-asked question.

I don't remember all of what I said, but essentially, I gave the pretty standard advice of starting a new post, copy just the jaaxy html code into it, and post it to see if it works, if so, copy and paste the rest of your text into the new post before the html code (obviously in text mode). The reason I say this is any WSYWIG (What you see is what you get) editor is going to add extra stuff (called markup) to your text. It's far from perfect. The more changes you make, extra code or markup starts to become a problem. The more formatting and pictures and such, the worse it gets. Sometimes, the document gets overwhelmed with extra formatting codes that don't play nice together, and you have whole sections that go missing.

I have fixed similar problems when posting youtube videos to my posts that never appeared until I went into text mode and started hacking my HTML, and in my 20 plus years of computer tech support. The basic troubleshooting concept holds true whether you are talking about Microsoft Word documents or WordPress posts.

Will this fix your problem? I don't know. But it is something to try.
It's getting kind of late for me now, but tomorrow I intend to try this out to see if I can get this to work for myself, because you have piqued my curiosity. I may have additional insight then.

Thanks for responding again. I felt really bad about accidentally deleting unread responses...

I had actually tried posting the code by itself and it didn't work for me. I have heard since then that Jaaxy is undergoing some updates and that this is likely the cause, so I decided that the best bet for me at the moment was to rework my post and then just wait until I see that the updates are done.

Jaaxy is currently undergoing some updating, Kyle and Carson are aware that there is an issue with the code not currently generating the form.

Great.

I am a bit surprised, though, that support doesn't seem to be aware of that.

WA and Jaaxy are two separate companies, domain and hosting support here at WA don't have anything to do with Jaaxy nor with the WA platform itself.

Fair enough. I just figured that they might be aware of it given that it seems as though a number of people are asking about it.

Anyhow, not too big of a deal. I'll just wait for it to be updated.

Craig, I found out yesterday mine had disappeared too. And like you, I went firing a concerned question. Some advised it might be down to me adding some conflicting plugin, but I didn't.
Some others however suggested Jaaxy may undergo some upgrading - which is all very good, but if true, I wouldn't mind to be told by way of a blog on Jaaxy or even here.
I don't think there is much we can do until the upgrade is complete, I guess.

Yeah... Even a comment in the training would be useful.
Guess I'll re-write my post and then just wait and see what happens.

I have tried everything, added Jaaxy and my website to the settings of Chrome, nothing works.

Haha! Earth Mother as well as WA consultant - now that's what I call multi-tasking :))

One of the kids is ill, and couldn't go to school, so my multi-tasking goes on the rest of the day

Oh dear. I'm sure you will cope.

Today and tomorrow ar my grandchildren days

My daughter will arrive shortly with her 7 months old daughter and tomorrow afternoon we will collect my son's 6 year old twins from school and buy them tea on the beach.

Unbeatable and unrepeatable times, so even WA has to take a back seat.
