Hello everyone,

We have been experiencing some problems with Content writing whenever we attempt to write anything with ten or more words.

Is anyone else having this

Hello Geoff-n-Jane
I know what you are talking about...I think you will find that you are accidentally knocking the mouse pad with your wrist as you type. For that reason, I rarely use a laptop mouse pad as they often do this weird jumping thingy. I always use an external mouse. As for the disappearing text...? Can't help you with that, but it might be related to your mouse problem.
How's it going? Are you still travelling around Australia? Just a thought - if you are typing while you are travelling (which I do a lot!) then your jumping could also be related to that.
Cheers
Elsie

Thanks for that Elsie.
No, we don't type while we're actually travelling.

I am also on PC. The jumping does happen occasionally and I know I am not touching the mouse at the time it happens. My comment replies don't disappear though. I will now scan below and see if anyone has answered this question.

Thank you Helen. Is yours a PC Desktop or a PC Laptop?

Desktop. I hate laptops as they are too small. I have enough trouble getting a desktop keyboard that is big enough for me to like.

Thanks Helen.
VERY INTERESTING - if it happens also on a desktop, it can't necessarily be because of the mouse pad, as a few members think.
We've come to the conclusion that the disappearing act is more than likely to be a WA glitch.
Now with your comment, maybe the cursor jumping could quite possibly also be a WA glitch. mmmm
On the other hand, if it is a WA glitch, Exactly how many members is it happening to I wonder?
I think I'll ask 'support' ...

Everything has been good so far.

Yes they have, Thanks Travis.

Geoff-n-Jane, Sorry you are having issues. I have no clue to offer, not even a crumb of advice. Just a hearty thank you for writing about an issue I have, and had no clue what was causing it. The helpful suggestions here are so appreciated!
Thank you,
Sami

Thank you for your comment Sami.

Nope, I wrote few blogs every day, everything was fine. Maybe I need to knock on wood?

lol - maybe so. Thank you Nemira.

i`ve had posts dissapear and i could not explain it try writing in word then pasting and you should not have tis problem

Thank you Roamy, good suggestion.

I have had that with a desktop and normal mouse.
And if you delete a sentence and hit enter after you type next one it puts that sentence back in..
Weird stuff. Not all time though. In fact it has been a couple of weeks for me. It is random.
I also get same stuff you described.
Totally random again as well.

The deleting and then having the words put back in happens to me all the time in the Chrome search box!

Interesting - we think the disappearing act is a WA glitch, maybe...
Anyway Thank you Lisa for your comment.

well i would say your right,
the only thing to consider is i log on outside of here,
i know it is same server, same place, but there supposedly is less lag by doing that, though i am laggy as crap most of time.
but i have plugins...to many

mmmm Interesting - we think the disappearing act is a WA glitch, maybe...

lol - Thanks for that Lisa.

Hello Geoff-n-Jane,
I had the same problem with my laptop. It was pointed out to me that I was probably was inadvertently touching the mouse pad. I stuck a post it note over it and the problem went away. Hope this helps. Vincent

Thank you Rablo - we'll give it a try.

Greetings Geoff-n-Jane!

I'm using a desktop (no mouse pad), and have a jumpy cursor as well - but no disappearing text.

My flavor of jumpy cursor is this: occasionally as I'm typing, the cursor will jump from where I'm composing to the top. It never jumps to any other location - always to the first position of the first sentence. This will typically happen half a dozen times a day.

Curiouser and curiouser!

Dennis

Interesting - Thank you for your input Dennis.

I used to use a laptop and experienced what you're describing constantly. It turned out that while I was typing I was inadvertently knocking the mouse pad with my palm. So it was selecting text and deleting it, or repositioning the cursor.

In the end it wound me up so much that I started using an external mouse & deactivated the mouse pad.

Now I'm not saying this is definitely the cause of your issue, but it is worth looking into. Especially as it is happening on two different laptops for you.

Thank you very much Jay.
I'll look into it.

We recently read a blog about the 'bounce rates' on websites.

When we are asked to visit members' websites, sometimes the subject isn't one we're really interested in as I

I enjoyed the new posting- but could not leave a note- kept getting the message that the captcha was not a readable file I do not think many will keep working with this as I did, but, do not know why I could not comment

Hi Sami,
We have had a couple of members tellinig us about this problem. We don't know what's happening.
We DID get your comment, Thank you.
We replied to it on http://cheekychihuahuaproducts.com/foods-that-dogs-should-not-eat

I left a comment. I also took a look at the history page. A quick question is did you want the dog photos to show when the page is open. I had to click on the link (and that may be what you wanted).

Don't understand what you mean, Helen!! Aren't the pictures showing in the 'History' page?

They weren't. So I just went back and checked and now they are. So all is good.

Thanks for that Helen.

I tried to leave you a comment but kept getting that the captcha was unreadable then when I tried to refresh and redo, I was told I had already said that, so I think maybe you received the comment! You will just have to let me know! :)
When I go to a website and find such well presented and engaging information I usually tour more of the site!

Thank you for this Christa. Sorry you had so much trouble.
Thank you also for the comment on our site - yes we got it !!
We Replied to this comment on http://cheekychihuahuaproducts.com/foods-that-dogs-should-not-eat
We also commented on your site under "How to Choose a Website Name and a Domain Name".

Thank you! :)

I generally land on a page, read and comment. Sometimes when there isn't a whole lot to comment on, I check out other pages. I look for an about me page and check into several headings and articles to add further feedback about the content.

If I notice that there are no comments on a blog post I will try to comments there if I don't have enough to say on my original landing page.

What frustrates me is landing on a page that has nothing but a home page, no comment section, and no blog roll because it forces me to go in search of a post to comment on

We all know how much time it can take to read the blogs of others and leave 3 comments (quite often I leave a great deal more than 3 comments after and as I ask for one, and landing on a page like that just takes extra time.
~D

Hi Debra,
Thank you for that comment.
We can definitely identify with what you say.
We hate it too, when you read a really interesting page and there is no comments section at the bottom.
We also tend to comment quite a lot more than 3 comments - but then that's our choice and in most cases we feel we want to give those comments anyway.

left a comment on your post it was really nice surfed a bit really like the way you have your pictures set out it was really good information for any dog owner especially if they are a new owner and this is the first dog. Job well done

Revisits most of the time in, read post and leave a comment then back here.

Always positive comments on the site. The good, bad and ugly here where it has no impact on there site but they can fix or adjust anything on there site they want to consider from what I may have written.

Again great post left you a comment and I also look for leaving comments on posts that need them most if one has not been selected.

As always the amount of help and support is so surprising

Hopefully you will find the problem on the theme you are using. If it were me, I wouldn't spend a lot of time fighting it. I would change themes. Good luck you two.

Thanks for your input Larry.

Have you added the posts to the specific category you want it to appear in?

Yes, Thank you Kathy. Dennis helped me sort it out

Excellent, glad you got sorted out! :)

Hi Geoff & Jane (and Bubbygirl),

A couple of thoughts - take them for what they're worth. Somehow the word category/ snuck into the post URL in the menu. If you click on the link now, you'll get a 404 (as you noted). Go up to the URL bar and remove "category/" from the URL, and hit enter - and the post will load.

Try going to Appearance > Menus in the left sidebar of the admin area, and in the Menu Structure area, click the down arrow next to one of the errant 404 'sub categories'. Click Remove from the lower left corner of the dropdown. It won't remove the post, just the menu item. Repeat for each of the problem menu items, then scroll down and click on Save Menu.

Next, go to the section immediately to the left, where check boxes show pages & posts to add to the menu. Tick those that you intend to re-add, and click Add to Menu.

Over in the Menu Structure area again, click on the new posts you just added, and drag them into position under the Health tab. Make sure they are indented just a little under Health, so they show up as sub items on the menu.

Be sure to scroll down and click Save Menu again. Your links should be operational now.

The second thought is to click on the down arrow next to top tier post / page names, and shorten them where you can.

For example, "TEACUP AND NORMAL SIZED CHIHUAHUAS" could just be "SIZES", and "BUBBYGIRL’S PICTURE GALLERY" could be just "BUBBYGIRL'S GALLERY". In that way your menu would remain a single line on smaller width browsers.

Best of luck with it!

Dennis

Hi Dennis,
We are so glad you stopped by !!!
Whilst deleting the word 'category' from the URL and deleting all the sub categories and re-add them again, didn't solve the problem, it made me dwell on the different category boxes and I saw the 'custom links' menu, so I decided to try and add the whole url without the word category in it (it doesn't belong there anyway) and it worked.
So Thank you very much for your help.
Jane

Glad to be of help... errr... sort of.

Dennis

G-N-J I looked at your site and it does say nothing found. You might check and make sure you have published the sub category articles and they are not still a draft. Another thing is they could be tagged as private this would cause them to not show up also. Let me know if either of these suggestions work.

The articles (posts) - 8 if them - were already there published under "Recent Posts" even before I created the sub category titles. Just don't know how to combine the article and the sub category title together.

Hey you two,
I dont know much about sub categories (yet), but I seem to recall I got the same message on my site before I posted my first blog.
Have a great evening down under.
-Theuns

The blogs are already there, they just need to be brought together under the sub categories. Not sure how to do that.

I think it says that until you add content all you did is set the menu now add some content and you should be good to go

Yes, but how do I add the content of each of the 8 posts from where they are under "Recent Posts" on the Side Bar, to the 8 sub categories titles which are under the "Health" Page title across the top of the site.
E.g. How do I combine the text and the titles together?
It's really hard to explain. If you like, please have a look on cheekychihuahuaproducts.com

They're called 'widgets' and you can remove any ones you don't want and rearrange the order of the ones you do want. In your dashboard got to Appearance==> Widgets and you can make the changes there. You'll probably want to use 'text' widget for ads ~Marion

Thanks Marion I have book marked it!

You can redesign the sidebar as you wish. Here are a few instructions:

WP, Dashboard, Appearance, Widgets. Add or remove as you please (drag and drop).

A while back the lessons taught us to create a WA Email Address, which for the purposes of this question we'll call our Chihuahua address, and the lesson also got us to have it

Whenever I have seen this question asked in the past I often see the suggestion to contact support! Have you tried this avenue?

Actually no we haven't. Thank you Christa.

You're welcome!
