Email Marketing

I'm ready to start offering a free "gift" when my viewers signup up for emails. How do I go about doing this? and what are your top 5 priorities when creating email marketing a

Using an autoresponder like Mail Chimp is a great way to go. This way when they enter their email they automatically trigger the autoresponder and receive the free gift, whether it be an infographic, e-book, or link to an important article you wrote, etc. There are all kinds of easy ideas you can use for the gift itself, but definitely go with the autoresponder as this makes the process all automatic.

I'm sure you can find some info and training on Mail Chimp here.

Yes... and mail chimp is free until you reach 2000 subscribers.
You need an autoresponder first, snd then a goid plugin that goes with it (hustle supports all autoresponders)

Thanks Eric. I'm a little confused on how it works, do i create the free *gift* on mail chimp? or is it done on WA and then linked? There is still so much exciting things to learn and it's making me feel over whelmed again... I'll take a look at the training here at WA and use my time today to grasp some knowledge about mail chimp.

Don't overthink it. It doesn't matter where you come up with the gift. It can be a simple link to a helpful article here on WA, or it could be training in the form of an infographic or a pdf with tips on a specific subject, or anything at all that has value.

If you're looking into how mail chimp works, just go to mail chimp's website and I'm sure they have videos explaining everything. You can also just search in the search bar here. Here's one I found :) No need to feel overwhelmed. Remember, you're calling the shots. If it doesn't make sense to you yet, then don't incorporate it yet. It's no big deal :)

You create your 'gift' first because you are going to send the link to it in your first email.

That gift should be an ebook or program that will help your reader understand a little more about the niche you are in.

There is an email marketing guy here who has been blogging about this and you should take a good look at his series:

His user name is: Marketeer1

Enter 'email marketing in the search box at the top of this page and find one and go to his profile and look at all of them!

All outstanding responses should be gifted to take marketing up a notch!

I use a plugin hustle... quite complete

I've been using Pixabay since I started building my website, the thing is, when I search for a picture that I want and I know what i'm looking for... is no where to be found on

Thank you so much for your infomation, I am working to build my first website and I need to find some pics for my blogs and website. Your are a great help thank you!!

I've used pixabay for 100% of my photos. It's quick, easy, and good quality. While sometimes you have a specific pic in mind, I wouldn't spend too much time trying to find the perfect pic. It's just a matter of finding something similar on pixabay where you know there's no copyright issues :)

What are some things I should be looking for when picking the right picture to make sure that there is no copyright. Is there any training on this I feel like we went over it momentarily in the previous course but I’m not sure where to find it

When you use sites like pixabay and other "free to use" sites you don't really have to worry about it as the images there are compiled specifically for free use. It's when you venture out and start taking pics randomly off Google that you run into potential copyright issues. Pixabay for me is by far the easiest site to use, but there are others you can try.

No you can't just take any photo from google and use it unless the photographer has allowed you a license to use it (and they may charge for that). Some stock sites do also have free stock where the author has allowed commercial usage (such as pixabay but again be careful as they may not always have the rights to those photos).

Editing them unless the owner of the copyright has allowed this is a huge no. I regularly do checks for my own photos (using google image search and tiny eye) and if I find any in use on a site that has not paid a license then those websites get a hefty bill. If they do not pay their ISP gets issued with a DMCA takedown notice so sometimes their entire website will be taken down. In other words please do not steal photos in this way and always check that the copyright owner has allowed you to have usage.

Like you I do go to Google a lot, but I also use Flickrr.com, and just recently started using unsplash.com. I used commons.wikimedia.com for one post yesterday. I also use Paint to edit mine.
