I've followed the steps to begin creating the first 3 pages on my site, but they are not showing up on the site. Any ideas?
You have to add those pages to your menu first. Here's how you can do it.
Go to Appearance - Menus. Under Pages - Most Recent, tick all of the available pages and click Add to Menu. The pages will be moved to the Menu Structure on the right. You can change the order of the pages by dragging the specific page up and down. Then, just hit Save Menu and you're good to go.

Hi there. Thanks for the help. There doesn't seem to be an option to click 'add to menu', only to create a new menu. I can tick the relevant boxes but can't then save them to the menu. I'm assuming this is because they've already been saved perhaps? I'm stuck!
Ok. I think I know what the problem is. Under the Menu Settings on the right, tick the Primary Menu as shown on the picture above and click Save Menu.

Hmm, I dont have a "manage locations" icon after "edit menus" at the top of the page, if that's relevant. Also, I can't seem to open the menu structure in order to view the menu settings. My menu has no name, and this wasn't mentioned in the course.
That manage locations is less relevant as of now. You don't need to open the menu structure in order to view the menu settings. Scroll down and you'll see the Menu Settings. You can name your menu on the Menu Name above the Menu Structure. I think Kyle did mentioned about naming your menu somewhere, if I'm not mistaken =)

I'm building my website and it isn't customising. So the name and tag line haven't been inserted.
In order for your website to have a name and tagline displayed you must have your logo set as "dynamic text". If you have it set to image I think it wont display your name and tag line
I'm a bit confused! In lesson 4 the website is built with your chosen name inserted into your choice of theme. This never happened to mine. There was no mention of me having to set my logo as dynamic text. I haven't got so far as putting a logo in yet, and was just hoping it would have the right heading automatically placed! Also, I can't seem to find a setting for my logo in order to change it to dynamic text. :0)
What theme are you using? Different themes can cause your site name to not appear depending on how it's coded.

I am reluctant to give my card details to Askimet in order to activate the plugin, as I'm unsure how I'd be able to cancel my monthly payments if it doesn't workout for me.
I found the information you were looking for. I took a screen shot of it below. Basically you just go to the website, login with your wordpress account and find the cancel subscription button.

Does your menu look the same like the picture above?
Yes it does, but the add to menu is faded out and doesn't respond to me pressing it.
Have you looked at the Menu Structure to see if the pages have been added?
There's still nothing there. Really odd. Perhaps I should change the theme?
