I want to tell you a story(Max Bygraves) for those who remember him.

I had been looking for a new "Vehicle" for a few months, searching the local papers, visited a few sites, you know the ones "Honest Harry's", "Slick Syd's" "Generous George", all the usual back street sellers. Then one day I thought "Lets try a main dealer", probably work out a bit more expensive, but sure to get exactly what I need.

So the following day I went in search of a dealer that was advertising the "Vehicle" I was looking for and popped in to have a chat with the "Sales Person".

I explained exactly what i was looking for, and he told me he had the just the "Vehicle" for me, and led me over to where this "Vehicle" was.

At first sight the exterior looked very inviting, he then allowed me to open the door, and inside was even more appealing. Had all the toys you can imagine for an easy comfortable journey.He told me that it was his most popular model because it came with every extra you can imagine, and had sold a great number of them over a period of time.

Ok I said, would it be possible to maybe have a test drive before I commit myself, and without hesitation, he gave me the entry key and told me to take it, in fact take it for a whole week, 7 days, try everything out, use all the equipment and if there is anything you are not sure about or don't know how to use just give me a call and i will guide you through it. Just come back and see me in a weeks time to let me know how you get on.

Unbelievable, I had this "Vehicle" all to myself for 7 days to try out, get to know how it works, how all the equipment pans out, with the knowledge that if i need to know anything i'm not sure about, I just make a call and there will be someone on hand to help me out, and if it is actually what I am looking for.

So 2/3 days into my test drive I'm thinking this is amazing, I've got to start thinking rationally here, this is going to cost me a small fortune.

After 4 days I was so impressed with everything about this "Vehicle", I went back to the sales person for a low down on how much this would cost me if I decided to go ahead with the deal.

Let me tell you what we are offering, he said, Firstly you don't have to worry about servicing, we take care of every step as and when you need it, then there is the connection with out team, anything that goes wrong or maybe you have a query about something, someone is always on hand to help you and that means 24/7 365. Your handbook is very comprehensive and gives you a lesson on every aspect of the "Vehicle", and one more thing, the owners of this company want to know you are getting the very best service from us so they will interact with you to make sure you are completely satisfied, you can contact them at any time. Interested?

Yes I am, but how much is all this going to cost me?

Well we have two payment plans, monthly and yearly

The monthly plan is $47, but the yearly plan I can discount by 36% and charge you only $359, and because you have come back and want to purchase within the first 7 days I am going to discount the price on your first monthly charge by 56% and only charge you $19, this will give you another month just to make sure you want to keep the "Vehicle", if you decide you don't want to keep it, no problem, just bring it back and no more payments will be due. How does that sound?

That sounds really reasonable, when can I have the "Vehicle"?

Immediately, lets just fill in the paper work and its all yours.

How far did Max travel in his working years anyway, would our good friends across the pond have heard of him?
Seem to remember the story about him having a big house above the cliffs overlooking Bournemouth way, was that right?

Thats right Mark, he had a house on Sandbanks

Very posh....I remember going to Sandbanks about 30 years ago and it was a bit of a tip, a far cry from the luxury property laden spit it's become in recent times!
