What is the best way to begin creating a mailing list? Is there a better company to use than another? I am creating content but I think the only place it is going is on my webs

Aweber it is free for the first 500 subscribers.

Tutorial

Aweber is affiliate marketing friendly

Thank you Abie. I'll check it out.

You're very welcome.

You may find this training helpful. Jay also has a Webinar

Thank you jghwebbrand. I did view Jay's webinar but need to build up my views before building out a funnel campaign. So much to do!! :)

Yes, it certainly does take time. But the good thing is when we look back a year progress is great.

We wish you well.

Sender dot net is the one I recommend, but MailChimp, MailerLite, and SendInBlue are quite good too.

If you are small, try free plugins like hustle and mailchimp

You need an autoresponder. I use Active Campaign. Other opular ones are AWeber, GetResponse and MailChimp. Research them and decide which one suits you best. They will provide you with code to display a form that your visitors can complete to join your mailing list. You will need something to give away as an incentive.

Your content doesn't "go anywhere". Your aim is to get it ranked on the search engines so that searchers click on it and do what your content directs them to.

But the information Phil does go to individuals when you have an autoresponder, correct? Is the process explained in the training sessions on how to build your list or does that come with the autoresponder company that you hook up with?

Word to the wise, Mailchimp frowns on Affiliate Marketing, Glenn!

Jeff

Emails should link to your own landing pages, not directly to the vendor.

Your autoresponder allows you to format an email that is sent to your subscriber when they fill out your form. Subsequently, you can send them emails either when an event occurs (such as 3 days after the previous email) or you can broadcast an email to everyone (or to a selected sub-set).

I know that, but I remember reading something about Mailchimp not being compatible with Affiliate marketing or something, so I have steered clear of them (unless something has changed). I'll use Aweber when I'm ready to proceed, I think!

Jeff

First, MailChimp's aversion to affiliate marketing is greatly exaggerated. Second, if you link to your own landing pages instead of your vendor's, the issue doesn't arise.

Well, Phil. That is good information to know. Much appreciated!

I published an article on my website. The image on my home page (for the article) is different than the article image I originally posted (the image that shouldn't be there is

Kindly let us know it that has resolved your issue.

Thank you.

Hi Abie...thank you for your help. Yes, my featured image was the problem. Now however, when I go to my home page, I find that the various blog post do not line up horizontally. Is there a way to fix this?

Just had a look at your site, it may seem you lost the CSS.

However, templates may have limitations, If your template is free you may want to reach out to the forum or if paid, you may follow up with the developers.

Possibly you would need choose a featured image from your post
.

Can you do a screen print so we can get a better idea of what your home page looks like. Did you refresh your browser?

Here you go...I've attached both the article image and the image that is appearing on the Home Page (my bio picture). I have no idea why it did this or how to change it.

A couple of thoughts.
Did you select your image for your post as a featured image? How did you choose the other post images?

What are the image dimensions the full image size will be too big for your post Look in your image media library and see the image size of your middle post/. If you don't have the right size option for your home page (same as second post image) make a copy of your home image and make is smaller. so it is the same size as the one used for the middle post. .

Rethinking this. I don't think your image size is the problem.

Did you even have a different image in the column 1 post? Did you do anything different with your first column post vs your 2nd and 3rd column posts

I have never experienced this before. .

It looks like Abie and I are thinking the same.
Did you set your featured image for your post.

Thank you jghwebbrand. The featured image size apparently was the problem. My issue now is figuring out how to line each post up the the next column so they don't become increasingly offset as you scroll down. Any suggestions on this would be helpful. thriveafter50.com

I tried the link and for some reason could not get it.
First I would make sure all of your featured images are the sane size.
If they are, are you using the block editor? sometimes their can be a theme column overflow flow problem.

If your features images are all the same size. refresh you browser and the "refresh" by the login button.

Does that help?

If not, my guess is this is a theme problem.
I would ask the question in google with your theme name and see if anyone else has reported having this problem.

If it's thriveafter50 dot com, then that should be your niche, friend. Whatever related topics you choose to add with that are on you. All the best!

Thank you. I appreciate your input!

As a 77 year old, I think you're absolutely on the right track.

You have a nice, generic domain name and a clearly defined audience.

There are plenty of sub-niches within this one, such as anti-aging, drug-free therapy, diet, exercise, happiness and so on.

I'd pick a sub-niche, use it as a menu item containing landing pages and then do a series of blog posts around it.

Then do another one.

And so on.

Thank you Phil. I appreciate your suggestions. I'm sure I'll learn more about landing pages once I get further through the training. Of all areas, I will probably begin with the health and wellness aspect. I pick this because for any of us wishing to do something that makes a difference in people's lives, it's much easier to do when we have the energy and feel good. My being an active personal trainer, group fitness instructor, and specializing in senior fitness proves this to me over and over again. As I get into this deeper Phil I may ask you now and then your opinion. I hope you don't mind. Thanks again!

You're welcome. Don't hesitate to ask any questions at all.

Hi

ONE niche, a website. Products and programs can be varied however all must be relevant to the niche.

I'd also want to narrow it down to a subcategory starting out, and once completely exhausted move on to another subcategory.

Otherwise you may confuse your visitors and Google.

Target audience is important too, who would you be writing to, once you are able to identify them, you are closer to find your calling.

Thank you Abie. I appreciate your comments and wisdom. :)

My suggestion would be to start with one website and test the different niches to see which has the best results.

You may think you need different niches, but your audience will soon tell you which ones they prefer. This will then determine which niches you should focus on.

Having several websites at the start can be messy and time consuming without any real results.

Thank you for your input. I really do appreciate it. I most likely will begin with the health/wellness aspect of aging since this is my primary passion.
