I have been trying to log in to FaceBook but with each try I get this message:
Your Computer Needs to Be Cleaned
It looks like your computer is being affected by malw
If you use Firefox you will get this message. But if you post using Regular! Windows 10 it will work...This is a Facebook tactic to get you to download there Antivirus software..When Post anything on Facebook I just use my window 10 not Firefox
This all sounds like some kind of redirecting spyware on your computer Gaylon, I have never heard of this issue on FB.
Hey buddy good to see you. Doing OK? That's really not what I wanted to hear, but now what to do?
Hmm well I'm not an expert in this field. Normally I do a system restore but I don't think that's recommended. Try to ask one of the members here through a basic question, you're bound to get a solution.
Did this just start today? I havent' had that happen but I haven't been in facebook today and I think I will stay out of it until whatever this is gets taken care of. Thanks for the warnings!
Hi Bj, good to have you drop by and comment. No I started working on this 2 days ago but with all the distractions I pushed it into today so I could work on it uninterrupted. Been a pain. Staying out is what I should have done. I hadn't used fb for a couple years. So I thought I'd give it a shot. Thanks. L8r ~Gaylon
Yes, and I closed my account. I don't know what's going on, but I closed my account down. Because this is not the first time it did this. The first time, I logged off and waited and logged back on and everything was fine. But the next time it shut my computer down. I have been having problems with Facebook.
Thanks for the speedy reply Kelly, I had considered that, But didn't want to lose my work. Hmmmm, another discussion. :) ~Gaylon

Although many of my pages are responsive in nature, I thought a blog would make an excellent expansion. Your thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks ~Gaylon
Agreed - you normally setup your own domain, and then it can be http://yourmain.com - as opposed to http://gaylon.siterubix.com - although you can do that if you want to.
Most websites however, are setup on their own root domains.
Cheers, Mark
Hi - yes - the important part is the bit before the .com - that is the real domain.

When setting up a blog on an existing site is it normally hosted on a sub-domain?

I know WA features WP for obvious advantages from past experiences, but I'm curious to know as I have been away from the internet for awhile.
I have one site up on Blogger, though I don't use it as a "blog." I have it as a stand alone static site. It's the umbrella company for my brands, and I have a page there that shows my wp sites "under management." (It's still "under construction.)
WA is great in that they host your sites, but you really "should" have at least one other site that is hosted under another IP address. To my knowledge, WA does not offer - not yet anyway - any of your sites to have their own IP address. I believe they are all "shared" which, of course, makes sense. But, as mentioned, I think it's wise to have one or a few somewhere else, and the best part? Blogger is free. So, I'm not paying any hosting charges either.
If you want to check it out, go to my profile page, and view the sites below to the right. Look for A-BusinessSolutions - that is my "blogger" static site under it's own IP address.

Thanks Tori, I'll take this in consideration. I'm not up to speed technically so I have I'm learning. All the best! ~Gaylon
Thanks for the info on blogger.. someone here just mentioned that she has started a blog on Google blogger too.
Cheers

It is very active. My best money making site is a blogger blog. It's my oldest too. I hope to do as well with my WP sites.

Is blogger still active and if so, is anyone using it?

I am currently using Microsoft Edge as my browser, but friends tell me Chrome is better?
I've gotten used to Chrome. For someone like me, who likes to see my tabs directly in front of my eyes, its a great asset.......
You said it! My laptop's back and I requested, since it was included in the servicing fee, that they set up the tab that I have on my smartphone, you know, with that Google Flags tool. That'll save me loads of trouble...
I think it's about personal preference. But perhaps there are some perks with Google tools if Chrome is your browser...I personally use Chrome but haven't set too much up yet. Still learning ;-)
Hi LizPB, nice meeting you online. There are three horizontal lines on the right upper corner, click it and go to "Settings" if you want to personalize your Chrome browser. Hope this helps.
They are both good, it depends on how well verse you are on each one, you can download Chrome also, its better to have different browsers, I use Chrome, ME and Firefox. One advantage of ME is its ability to add notes on the websites you're viewing.
Thanks NR, that's what I've done to try this. Noting the advantage of ME you made and others with security I have; the first disadvantage is Chrome uses Yahoo as the home page. I have a custom homepage I use and would have to let it go. I appreciate your input. Glad you dropped by. ~Gaylon
Hi Gaylon, you can set the homepage you want in Chrome also, Chrome browser will allow you to change your homepage. On Chrome browser, on the top right corner, you will see three horizontal lines, click it, scroll down to "Settings", under "Appearance, check the box "Show Home Button" and click "New Tab page Change", a window will appear and you can set the homepage you want, refresh, and the page you want will be there. Hope this helps.
Chrome just has less issues with spyware, offers more "clean" browsing and just loads faster and crashes way less than IE or Firefox.
I haven't really had any problems with Spyware and such with Edge. I was glad to get rid of IE. Thanks for the insight my friend, I'll check it out. Hope you're doing well! ~Gaylon

I made a mistake and inadvertently blocked someone in my outlook.com account that I definitely want on my contact list. Can I get them back?
I'm not clear about the difference. The mail program I'm using is windows.live Does that help? Sorry I'm not up to speed on this but I'm learning. Thanks for the speedy response. ~Gaylon
Ok, so that is the one you view in your browser. If you have sent someone to Junk by mistake, you can click on the Junk folder on the left and look for their email. When you find it, you can right mouse click on the email and pick Not Junk from the menu.
I hope that helps.
I actually was Blocking some emails and I somehow added an email contact to it by mistake. Can they be unblocked? And my client is Outlook.com
No when they are Blocked I'm not sure where they go but they are not in the Junk or Deleted Folder. And please don't tell me I've broken another program...lol
Ok, so let's look at this:
Click on the Setting cog on the top right-hand corner of the screen.
From the Drop-Down menu, please click on "Options"
In the new screen, look at the right of the two columns under the heading - Preventing junk emails.
Under there I would suggest looking under "Safe and blocked senders".
Thanks Picquali, you are a jewel. That's what I was looking for. You the man! Later and again thanks for the help.
