Cyclone Cook is set to thrash the North Island of New Zealand today.

It's predicted to be the worst storm in almost 50 years, with many of the East Coast residents being asked to evacuate.

Heavy rain and high winds are set to cause major disruptions to the Country on this last day before the Easter holidays, with roads and flights being disrupted.

To all Kiwi (New Zealanders) members here at WA living in the most affected areas, please stay safe.

Lets hope this cyclone will not cause too many problems with power, water and internet connection.

Happy Easter :-)

We just had cyclone Debbie wreck havoc in the north of Australia. Not much you can do other than be as safe as you can be. Human life is precious, the rest can be rebuilt. Stay safe Gaylene.

Yes, we got the end of that cyclone and unfortunately one of the towns over in the East Coast suffered major flooding throughout the whole town and are about to get a 2nd dose - it's very sad. People's homes have already been condemned, businesses have been ruined and families are devastated. But we're very resourceful and we'll get through it.

Thanks for stopping by I really appreciate the comment Mark :-)

Time to go surfing!

Yes wind surfing Beau :-)

No Good, stay safe Gaylene ... that looks so scary, I'm not surprised all North Islanders have been advised to evacuate ... saying a prayer for you and all that are going to be affected :( Mary xxxx

Thank you Mary, much appreciated :-)

So true Attila, thanks for the comment :-)

Paskalye bayraminiz kutlu olsun !

Our thoughts are with you, Stay safe and keep in touch.

Thanks Roy, and yes I'll post an update as things progress :-)

Lived for many years in Taiwan. I now how it feels when being affected by a super Taifun with wind speed of up to 250 km/h. Let's hope for the best and that there will be not too much damages. And those affected by the cyclone: stay indoor till it's over!

Thanks Eric, that's wise advice, unfortunately it's advice some people here don't heed to, as many families are still going to risk travelling on the roads, through the storm to enjoy their Easter break - not very responsible at all. Thanks for stopping by :-)

I know. Too many people are thinking that accidents happen only to the other people.

My prayers are with them hope all comes out fine and everyone safe

Thank you Anthony, much appreciated :-)

Ugh, like BOP needs more of this! Here in Aux all quiet right now, just gluing down the roof and stocking up on wine in preparation :) Hope you are safe Gaylene :)

I couldn't agree with you more Clare, but yes we're fine, I live in Whanganui we're not expected to have any major disruptions, but we are used to preparing for events like these - flooding of the Whanganui river has become an annual event so we're all ready for the worst - and I have my wine too! But we can still try to enjoy the Easter break :-)

Prayers going out to all affected.
Be safe.
Ty

Thank you Ty, much appreciated :-)

OMG, Gaylene, this is not good news. Will you and yours be safe?
Stay safe my friend sending prayers your way.

Thankfully, I live on the West Coast so we should escape the worst of the storm, but you weather patterns can change in an instance. Thanks for your prayers Sylvia :-)
