I was wondering what people's thoughts are on these two plugins? Are then essential or nonessential? I've noticed that my plugin count is getting higher than I would like and a

the plugin that I swear by is called "Speed Booster Pack"
Don't worry about the site speed that shows your plugins percentage, mine is at 0% as long as you don't have plugins that clash then it's all good.
Matthew

In other words, don't have similar plugins on the same site like 2 plugins for site speed etc

Thanks Matthew! I've never heard of that plugin. I'll have to check it out ASAP. :)

Honestly, It works really well with any website, good luck :)

Hello everyone! I'm curious to hear people's thoughts or experiences with Thrive themes and/or Genesis themes. Which one do people like better? Is one easier than the other to

I use Thrive and love them. I use all of their plugins as well as their themes. I've never used Genesis but it seems they are solid as well. I've used Divi extensively and love Divi as well, although Divi has a bigger learning curve...in my opinion.

Thanks for your insight. That seems to be the general consensus; Divi has a steeper learning curve. At this point, I'm leaning towards Thrive themes.

All my sites are using the Genesis Framework but I also use the plugin Thrive Architect as a content builder. I love Genesis but I refrain from using the Thrive Architect much as Grammarly will not run with it.

I have no experience with Thrive Themes but the Thrive Landing Pages that comes with the Thrive Architect are cool.

Thanks for the personal insight, I appreciate it.

Since this reply was done, Grammarly now runs with Thrive

Nice to know that Dave.

Thought it might be useful. I work on and in my website daily and Grammarly sits nicely in the corner doing its thing : )

Thanks for the info.

No problem

Any thoughts about Modern Themes?

I have not dived into them, but they look ok from their website. The free themes are mostly light versions of the pro ones and they seem to be well documented.

Thank you.

Both are really good.

Genesis framework is rock solid, although I have never used it.

Thrive themes are also good and the bundle of plugins and functionality for creating high conversion sites are also good.

I tried out Thrive just before Christmas, but ditched them because there were some limitations on accessing certain elements of the theme design without hard coding. But that's me nitpicking, for most it will work great. (And I also tested their refund policy which worked excellently).

I now use Divi, that lets me do everything Thrive does, it just isn't pre-puilt to do it, so I must design stuff myself.

Thanks for the information. I have heard of Divi too, I just wasn't sure if that would be the best option for me as someone who is just starting off. I think if Thrive has themes that are pre-built to have conversion-based features, that might work better for me.

Divi has a steep learning curve and I would not necessarily recommend it to an absolute beginner.
But if you can handle Thrive you can manage Divi too :)

I use thrive. Best thing ever. Totally worth it. But not necessary.

Thanks for your input, I'm really considering getting myself into Thrive themes.

I just switched over to Yoast yesterday and was trying to figure out how to submit my sitemap correctly to Google search console. I think I did it right, but I wasn't sure sinc

If you're going to be using Yoast then deactivate All In One SEO or you'll have conflicting sitemaps. It's never a good idea to have two or more plugins doing the same job.

I deactivated my All In One SEO before submitting my yoast sitemap. However, I still have my original sitemap still listed on Google Webmaster. Should I delete that one?

As you've deactivated All In One the AIO sitemap won't be getting updated. So yes, I would delete it from Search Console.

Thanks for your help, Marion. :)

Here's Marion's example

If you search "Yoast Sitemaps" in the searchbar at the top of the page (without the quotations), you will find several good training and Blog posts come up on the right-hand side of the screen. I am sure that you can find your answers here.

Anita

Thanks Anita! I appreciate your help.

You're welcome!

Here is a screenshot of my current search console.

I've been trying to add a post on my facebook page but when I paste the URL link, the preview with the post title doesn't automatically load. Does anyone know how to address th

Not sure if this is still an issue for you but I think I've found a fix!!

All you need to do is hit return/enter after you've typed the URL.

Worked for me, hope this helps :)

Also just realised it doesn't work with www. but works with the actual link https://websitename

Hi Kent!
Try this plugin.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/facebook-thumb-fixer/
Be sure to follow the instructions on the download page to install correctly.

This worked for me when I was having the same problem.
David

Hi David! Thanks for the suggestion! Have you noticed in problems in your site after activating this plugin? In terms of site speed?

Most plugins usually add a degree of latency to the site...mainly because of their own separate external CSS files or specific requests to servers etc. but it is very negligible. My site tests are still in the 90s.

Have you entered the meta tag and meta description to your site? If you have not, then Facebook will only display the name of your site with the URL.

I believe so. This is what I see.

did you choose a featured image? Most social media platforms will use the first image you use in your content. Facebook doesn't do that. If you want to use an image, then you should forgo your first image, as whichever is chosen as your featured image will be placed at the beginning of your content.

Jay (magistudios) Neill covered this in one of his training videos: I believe it is the first thing covered after the intro, but all of it is excellent information to know and use.

I hope this helps.

Anita

Yes I have a featured image. It's strange because one of my previous posts on facebook had the full preview with the post title and featured image. I'm just not sure what it is about this particular post that isn't letting that happen.

Well, then you have everything in order. It might be a Facebook issue.

If you have all the meta information and a featured image set, it should do what you want it to do. Facebook can be strange like that at times.

Have you tried posting it to see if it will show up the way you want it to anyway, even if it isn't giving you a preview like it should?

I am sorry that you are having this issue and I hope that it resolves itself.

Anita

Thanks Anita! I'll see what I can figure out. :)

On my Google Search Console, it shows 22 out of 71 images indexed. It has been showing this same fraction for at least a month now. My web items are mostly indexed 83 out of 95

I had the same issue. I went back and noticed that I had not added "alt text" in all my images, though I thought I had.

First make sure your all images have the 'alt text' field with key words or site address in them. Then in Google Search click on your site name, click on 'crawl' then 'fetch as google' write in the link address you want crawled or leave it blank for the whole site. Then come back in a couple of days and look at your stats. Remember Google has methods and processes that may not count all that you think it should but that is what we have to work with..

Content is the key..

Thanks for the advice. I'll try that out and see what happens.
