Love you - my Valentine's Day wish for everyone
It's Valentine's Day in the UK today - where people celebrate their spouses, lovers, boyfriends and girlfriends; buy cards and flowers and pay for meals out in order to tell their 'loved one' how they feel. Many millions are spent and much words of love exchanged.
However, as with many things, it can be a double-edged sword. It can make people feel unloved and uncared for, as much as cared for, as people who are not in relationships can often feel disappointed when no anonymous cards drop on their mat this morning and their 'lack of' a relationship is brought into sharp focus.
I have been in relationships, and I have been single on this day, so I know the pleasure and pain of both of these scenarios. But as I get older, I find a different perspective on today that I'd like to share.
So today, I am sending you all some LOVE - regardless of whether you are in a successful relationship or not. It is unconditional in that it is free for you whoever you are, whatever you've done, whether you feel you deserve it or not.
It is here today and it is for you.......FOR YOU!
And I would also urge you to look twice at the image above and think of this: there are 2 ways to view the words in the picture:
1) I love you - which is the sentiment that I have expressed above in which I am sending love to you.
BUT PERHAPS MORE IMPORTANTLY.......
2) LOVE YOURSELF - which is meant as an instruction - for in loving yourself you will find everything you need to get through life - you cannot love others unless you are first loving yourself, so find time today to love yourself and appreciate the amazing, wonderful and perfect human being that you are. Truly appreciate this, and your life will be transformed.
Whatever your situation - I wish you much love today.
