I love Pinterest - what an easy and visual way to expand your link presence

I'm currently working my way through the level 4 training and came across the Pinterest information which I'm really loving learning about.

Maybe I like this social media platform because I am quite a visual person but I really find the mix of colourful images and interesting pictures enticing. Kyle says that it is one of the fastest growing social media platforms and I can see why (no pun intended)!

It is really easy to add links to your content and to create some exciting "pin boards" which others can delve into and click on to find out more about your content. I also really like adding the brief descriptions to each post and I feel like a newspaper editor as I try to write engaging and eye-catching headlines to my articles.

I've only just starting and I only have 1 follower so far but hey - with my teacher's hat on I can say "room for improvement there" then! :)

I have gone back through my sites and posts and added links to all of them on Pinterest so that each of my posts is now available through this search medium as well. I've added my details to my profile page here at Wealthy Affiliate so people can find my page if they want to, and that's that. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!!

So if you haven't created your own Pinterest account, I suggest you pop over to their website to check it out.

Kyles's training from level 4 is here. https://my.wealthyaffiliate.co...

Have a lovely day everyone.

Thanks for reminding me to step my Pinterest game up, Gail! I'm using the platform for a while, but I mainly browse and pin other people's stuff. I need to create my own Pins and boards. And your idea about creating Pins to link to all your website posts is very useful!

Followed you on Pinterest, happy pinning :)

Thanks Nikoleta although I can't take credit for the idea - it's straight out of course 4! :) Gail

I was very happy to connect on Pinterest. I learned in lesson 4 also

Thank you. Glad you like it too. Gail

Pinterest is one of the best social media platforms out there for getting traffic to your site. You have to think of Pinterest as a search engine, rather like google. Keywords are important and getting your pins, repinned is key.
What is your Pinterest account. I will be follower no 2.
I have gone from 6 followers to 245 in less than a month by working hard on developing it.
With Grace and Gratitude
Karen

Hi Karen. Thanks for this info and glad you are making good use of Pinterest. I will PM you my details and look forward to seeing you there too. Thanks again. Gail

I love Pinterest and have quite a few followers just from some of the boards I have there so definitely will look into this medium Thank you so much for the informative blog

Thanks Jolynn. I'm no expert by any means, but wanted to share because I liked it. Thanks Gail

Pinterest is awesome! I've been using it for a few years now.

I've worked up to almost 1800 followers, but that's working it here and there a little bit at a time. Consistency is the key.

Post (and repost) about 30-50 pins every day, and you're sure to build up followers. I use pin schedulers too to help automate the process. My favorite is Boardbooster because it's pretty cheap, and it repins old pins for you so they look new. :-)

HI Mishael - thanks for the good advice - 30-50 pins a day sounds like a lot, wow! I'll look into the software you mention so thanks for the advice. Have you found it worthwhile in driving traffic to your website? Gail

It can be a lot, which is why I use Boardbooster. They pin about 25 pins a day for me, so I just have to hop on for a minute and do a few more pins each day. I also run a group board (I'm thinking about starting another one too), so I have other people pinning for me ... not every day, but every little bit helps.

When I first started trying to hit Pinterest hard, I was doing it all myself, and it took HOURS, literally. I decided I didn't want to spend all that time away from writing and all the other stuff I need to do for home, etc, so I looked into auto pinning options, and it was one of the smartest things I ever did.

Does it help drive traffic? Yes! Pinterest is my #3 source of traffic. It used to be my #2 source of traffic (Stumbleupon is #1), but within the last week or so Google has replaced it (which is awesome, because that means this WA training is really working to help me learn how to rank better on Google! :-)

Hi Gail, I recently joined Pinterest after many months since I finished the lessons. I just started to add Social Media besides only having Google+.

I love it.
I don't have many followers yet it takes a while for Pinterest. We do have the social media icons on our websites for visitors to click on. The only one I haven't set up is Facebook. I have researched it a while back and if you don't find relevant groups it's hard to make it. I found a few but they sell their own and only accept members to join who don't have their own website so I'll wait on that one.

I go to the Certification lesson to post all of my links, this is the link for it otherwise, most members don't leave the links on their profiles, I don't for now. We aren't allowed to leave our links in blog posts or comments but this one is from the lessons so it's fine.

Once in a while I post my Social Media links it really helps a lot.

Update :)
I just went to your profile page and followed you on your Social media that I have already. I find your niche very interesting!

Thanks for your insight Patsy and for following me. I love writing about my niche and still get excited about ideas and things to write which I think must be a good thing. Hope you have a great day and thank for the information and advice. Gail

You are welcome I couldn't leave my social media links here and figured you can just follow me back on your end.

I'm the same, I love my niche and of course it's a good thing :)
Imagine how some don't like their niche and struggle.

I'm Pinterested Gail. Meet you in the Boardroom!

As long as it's 'hired' not 'fired'! :)

LOL No worries!

Excellent. I’m a Pinterest fan myself but haven’t really set up much yet. I am on course 4 now so I think I will keep progressing through and will get to that shortly.

Thanks,
Rick

Thanks Rick - let me know when you set it up and I can follow you. All the best Gail

Gail, that Pinterest link you have included doesn't appear to take me to your account so that I can follow you. The images I see when clicking that link do not look like the images you have included in your post.

HI Valerie
The link in the post is the main Pinterest website as I didn't think it was allowed to add our other links into post, only on our profile page. The link you need is below. Hope that makes sense. Thanks again.

You're probably correct about pasting links here Gail. Anyway I have followed you on Pinterest.

Thanks and I have followed you too.

Thanks for your post Gail. It's great to read that you are getting so much pleasure from using Pinterest. Also that you are linking back to existing posts.

I started a Pinterest account before joining WA. It seemed to go okay, but I didn't get much from it. When I tried to access the account last year, it was no longer available, so I opened another one.

I don't know how successful I could be using Pinterest for my affiliate marketing website. I imagine I would need to have a business Pinterest account for that.

Anyway, I do have my schnauzer website and have a few pins with that.

I will follow you on Pinterest, and I wish you great success.

Thanks for your insight Valerie. I'm not sure what results I will see either (if any) but I really like the ease of use of the platform. I know that other people at WA have had a lot of success with Pinterest so I'll try to do some more research to find out how they made it work. Thanks for following me there too - I'll follow you as well. Have a good day. Gail
