Hidden treasure

Today I found 3 things that I have been missing for a while:

  1. A brand new pair of flip flops that I bought in the summer, put in that elusive 'safe place' and promptly lost to eternity, until today
  2. The charger for my netbook which I've been searching for, for over a month, and
  3. £10 in an old purse!

If anyone has seen my post about 'wish me luck' then you'll know that finding anything in my house at the moment is a major challenge and just as an update to that post, no, my make up has not turned up and I have had to buy fresh supplies for work tomorrow!

Still, it was a lovely feeling to find my flip flops again and even though November in the UK is not the best "flip flop weather", I was determined to wear them, so I cut the label off and bingo, was transported back to summer. Well at least until my toes began to show signs of frostbite and I resorted to a much more practical thick socks and wellies!

The charger for my netbook meant that my daughter could do her homework undisturbed in her bedroom (peace and quiet for the rest of us), and the £10 from my purse provided us all with some much needed coffee and cake on our afternoon walk!

Whilst it is probably only myself who considers these 3 things to be hidden treasure, what I learned from this, reminded me of 3 important lessons for my work here at Wealthy Affiliate:

  1. Things that we invest in (like my flip flops and WA) can pay dividends long after the money we spent on them has been forgotten - they are there, waiting in the background until the time is right to be discovered. There are many success stories on here about people's hard work paying off months after they created their sites and content and just when people are on the verge of giving up, they come up trumps.
  2. Seek and ye shall find - if we look hard enough, work hard enough, and want it enough - we will eventually find what we are looking for - be it a netbook charger or that financial and time freedom many of us are seeking here at WA. Just never give up but give it time.
  3. You never know what good things are round the corner or in that battered old purse! And it's even more fun when the universe sends you a surprise gift out of the blue - like a £10 note, an affiliate sale or a referral commission. Be grateful, be accepting and more will flow.

The rewards for all our hard work are out there I'm sure - so stay focussed, stay committed and trust that all will be right in the end - you never know when it's all going to 'come good' just when you least expect it!

Have a wonderful week.

Your flip flop-wearing, peace-loving, cake-eating friend, Gail :)

I have the biggest Problem with all the stuff I hide (so that the children do their homeworks) and then don't remember where I put them.
But this is another chapter.
It was a pleasure to read, thank you for the break.
N with a smile

I have the same problem with my children - never seem to lose them though! :)

You are right, this never happens and this is the most important.

Have a good night.

THANKS THAT IS GOOD STUFF

Thank you! :)

Now you make me peckish - now where did I put the fridge?

Haha - LOL! It can't be THAT bad, surely? Wait....who said that? :)

NICE!!!

Hee hee - just my mischievous nature coming out! :)

Is that you 'dancing shoes'?

This is good Gail. I am old and forget where I put things all the time. I love when I find them and they are still like brand new. LOL
I needed this this morning.
Thank you
Carmen

You're welcome. Of course I believe that there are no coincidences - you have attracted this advice to yourself just when you needed it! Just like a hidden treasure! Have a great day. Gail

Thank you, Gail. You have a great day too.
Carmen

I am forgetting my safe places all the time. I do consider these ssorts of things as hidden treasures. If I weren't convinced of tthe hidden treasures here at WA, I wouldn't be here. I love the way you related them here!

Thanks Anita. Hope all well with you. Gail

You're welcome! I hope all is well with you too.

It's sort of like those presents you hid a Christmastime last year and find them months later. I did that every year when my kids were small. I often hide things from myself because I know I'll forget where I put them. LOL!

I'd love some cake and coffee, thank you :)

Me too! I do that with Christmas presents too and forget what I've bought for who......could it be we are getting older?!! No - just a little disorganised! Thanks for reading Sue.

Maybe a nice mix of both, for me anyway. LOL!

And I'm not a spring chicken! Thank God!!! Wouldn't want to do that all over again. Happy in my own skin now, gently ripening! :)

Love that..."gently ripening" :) I wouldn't choose to do this all over again either.

How well I know this! My "safe places" can be the most unexpected places...lol.. But the more pleasant it is to find them, and be amazed at yourself. hahaha...:)

I've actually got more 'safe places' than I care to remember which is probably why I can never remember where they are! :) Thanks for reading.

Yep! Especially pleasant to find out are boxes of chocolate (not in summer, of course...)
Thanks for such an encouraging post..:)

Love the metaphor connection haha but a lot of positive to be learnt from your post!
Thank you for sharing :)

Thanks for reading. :)

Now we need to find these items or better as Amazon Black Friday treasure Gail!

Ha ha indeed! Think I'll leave off the flip flops this time!
