Digging Deep To Keep Up Momentum: 5 Pillars Of Progress

I'm in a strange place at the moment with my websites - 10 months in to Wealthy Affiliate and loving every minute.

However, I sense that I am in a sort of 'no man's land' at the moment with traffic and income from my sites that I also know many other people have gone through. So I just thought I'd share some of my thoughts and feelings from the place.

There is not a 'problem' as such because I love my work here at WA and I am starting to see some success with my sites. It's just that sometime I get so impatient as I know many of us do.

It's a bit like standing in the middle of a rickety old rope bridge, half-way across. I can't go back because I've come so far, but staring off into the distance, I still can't see the other side quite yet.

That's when I have to knuckle down, dig deep and focus on my 5 PILLARS OF PROGRESS to get me across:

Pillar 1. Have Faith

I KNIOW that the training here works. I've seen it and experienced it in small amounts for myself. I love reading the blogs of people who are reporting on their success because it spurs me on, confirming that everyone starts with making a site, and goes up from there.

I'm following lots of people on here and their reports of success and increasing income and traffic helps me get through times of doubt, so thank you. Please keep writing your blogs - they are 'life blood' to the rest of us.

Pillar 2. Have patience

This is one of the hardest things to find when you start your online business. I've written many posts about how this is not a 'get-rich-quick' scheme and to be honest, thank goodness it isn't because those are the ones that turn out to be scams. Wealthy Affiliate is definitely NOT a scam but an amazing learning opportunity for anyone willing to hunker down and do the work.

I know that 10 months in is the start of the turning point for many sites, when the search engines start to notice you more and you start getting more traffic.

So I'm creeping slowly and carefully making my way over this rickety old bridge, hoping that when I get to the other side, there is a land of plenty. I believe that the further across the bridge I get, the more substantial it becomes too.

But I don't mind admitting that it is a difficult place to be sometimes at this point in my WA career, and I have to summon all my patience to keep taking one small step after the other. I'll just keep going forward - patiently.

Pillar 3. Write consistently

My sites are 10 months old and I have 86 posts and 18 pages that I've written for them. (That's a total figure for both sites,) The aim here is generally to write 10 posts a month, so I've been OK at writing consistently. I'd love to write more posts each month, but most of my posts tend to be over 2000 words or longer so sometimes I figure that I've written 3 posts in one in my poor deluded brain! :)

Consistency is the key here as so many posts and blogs I read will tell you, so I follow other people's lead and write. This is no hardship to me as I love writing in the belief that it will all be worth it in the end.

Pillar 4: Keep learning

This is actually an easy one for me to keep going with because I still love learning, and boy, is there a lot to learn here. That's great though because I know I will never 'know it all' and every day will bring new challenges and new opportunities.

There is such a lot to learn here that sometimes I can get overwhelmed and not know where to turn. There's also a tendency to try to learn it all at once and do everything but I'm now learning that that is not possible, so I'm focusing on a few things at a time; hoping to get those mastered, and then move on to the next thing. I think that is one of the main things I've learned. Slow and steady wins the race!

Pillar 5. Remind myself of WHY I joined in the first place.

I definitely joined WA to earn more money - that's no secret. But I also joined so that I could improve the QUALITY of my life, and the amount of freedom I have within it. My niche site is about the law of attraction and how you can create the life you really want, so I'm loving the fact that WA gives me the opportunity to 'put my money where my mouth is' and live consistently with my ethos of life. I have made some very dramatic changes already and I'm hungry for more.

I want to have more time with my family, I want to be able to afford the things I've always dreamed of - taking my girls on a real safari, exploring the northern lights with my mum, visiting exotic and interesting places, meeting new people, learning to fly, meeting Esther Hicks on a cruise! These are the things that keep me going when things get a bit tough.

If I focus on WHY I joined and how great it will be when I have all those things, I know that I'm half-way there.

So those are my 5 pillars. They are helping me get across this bridge one step at a time and I hope they help some of your too.

WE CAN GET THERE!

Have a great day.

Gail

Thank you for your kind words. I appreciate your support. Gail

I have not been here on WA as long as you and I can imagine that if I have not made a sale in that time I will probable be feeling frustrated.

The hard thing for me is writing long enough posts, I am told that it get easier I certainly hope so.

I have got myself a part time job to keep me going till my site starts to bring in some money, but I am finding that I am neglecting my site.

I feel like a dog chasing my tail at the moment.

You could be just 3ft away from gold, with the work you are putting I am sure it will not be long now.

Bill

Thanks Bill for the encouragement. I wish you the same back. I know it works here so I just need to keep going.
We can do it!
