Definitely not new year!
OK, so today is definitely NOT NEW YEAR'S EVE', OR A NEW YEAR!
It's 30th December 2018. Traditionally this is NOT the day when we all celebrate projects 'yet to be' or even think about what we might achieve in the coming year.
Most of us will probably spend it recovering from the excesses of the Christmas period, tidying up, doing the washing or trying to get another bargain in the shops or online (just in case we have not spent enough money before Christmas!!)
However, why not stop and think for one moment........?
What if you realised that EVERY DAY can be the start of something new? You don't need to wait for New Year to start that diet; make healthier choices; sort out your finances; look for a new job; or create better relationships - you can DO IT NOW!
After all, using January 1st as New Year is really only a man-made celebration, which is purely an accident of the Gregorian calendar system. Many other cultures around the world celebrate the start of a new cycle on different days at different times of the year.
Now I'm not knocking New Year - it's a great way to start afresh.
All I'm saying is don't get distracted by the date - don't procrastinate things you can change immediately - YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR if you want to.
You can let every day be the start of something new...........that's an exciting thought, isn't it?
So what are you going to start new today, that will give you a head start on everyone else who are still procrastinating?
Leave your thoughts below........
For me - I'm going to upgrade to using premium themes on my websites! Now that IS exciting!
All the best for this SPECIAL DAY.

Of course you are right.
I used to have a saying that I used all the time..."Every day is a new little life." When you look at your days that way, you can find many benefits. It is exciting to think you can start over every day if you wish. It is renewing to see each day as a new start. It is rewarding to realize you can do whatever you desire with your new little life that day.
So true. So many people wait for a specific date to start something new - I'll wait until the start of the new week, the start of the new month, the start of the new quarter, the start of the new year. Everyday is a "new", so take advantage of that. Good post on this topic!
That is so true that everyday is a new day, and always can be with a clean slate, and always improving.I was going to wait until after the New Year to start writing more blogs, but I nipped my procrastination in the butt and started yesterday and plan on finishing it today.
All the best to you Gail on this special day.

Great way to look at it, Gail, that everyday is a New Beginning and there's no need to wait for for an insignificant date. Also realize that it's not in our interest to intoxicate ourselves to the point that's detrimental to our goals and our health. Why intentionally set ourselves back like that. This is the time to refocus our determination, to repeatedly tell ourselves that we are incredibly productive and then play the part. Good luck to everyone in 2019! -Mark
Agree to the dot Gail.
It's kind of funny when we tend to start something new only on new year. As you said, no matter what is date you can do it now.
Thanks for the reminder.
