Happy New Year Everyone!

OK, OK, I'm a few days late but 'better late than never' as they say!

I may be starting small, but I have great plans for 2019!

This is going to be the year when my websites make me at least $1,000 per month by the end of 2019.

AND

I'm going to get an invitation to Vegas 2020!

So, those are my specific mid-term goals - simple and achievable I think. And that said, I've decided that I am going to publicly accountable for my Wealthy Affiliate goals for this year, and publish them (in brief) at the start of the month and then review them at the end of the month. This will also give me a good way of monitoring my progress and taking my small steps each month towards my larger goals.

I have made them SMART goals (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timed) so that I can have a deadline and something specific to measure.

Making yourself accountable to other people increases the chance that your goals will be reached tremendously, so I hope you will support me in my ambitions.

Here are my first monthly goals/actions for 2019.

Deadline: 30th January 2019

1. Change to a premium theme on both my sites and do any adjustments necessary to make sure they function and there is continuity in the posts and pages.

2. Publish 3 posts on each site (6 in total). This is slightly lower than I'd like but I'm being realistic with other things I have to do this month.

3. Check all my Amazon links and update them.

I also have our annual performing arts school showcase at the end of January and I need to do my tax return too, so I've tried to make the goals realistic as it's going to be a busy month.

Wish me luck!

Or better still - join me and set up your own monthly accountability!

Gail

Great idea, Gail! Making ourselves accountable is really the only way to grow! My first goal is that by Jan. 31, I will have completed the unpacking, sorting, organizing, and putting away the contents of my spare bedroom. I know I won't be able to focus on my WA goals til that has been accomplished.

Sounds like a plan.

Yeah. Now I just gotta make myself do it!

Thanks Gail for the inspiration, and for sharing your goals.

I've never believed in sharing goals, but I think you've convinced me that this is the right way to go.

Due to being rather inactive in WA for a few months, I'm actually floundering, or maybe feeling overwhelmed is a better description, as to what to tackle first.

Maybe I will join you.

Great goals. Here's to making it happen. As per your quote above.

Happy 2019.

Hard work and dedication has and is paying off to reach your long term goals. Great advice to plant in our brain to program success..

Thanks Judson. I wish you much success in 2019 and beyond. It's the small things that take us on towards our bigger dreams.
Have fun today.
Gail

Mark

Thanks Mark. Will try my best at least.
All the best to you too.

Thanks Jerry.

Wow the posts part is a heavy one but good luck doing it

Hi Dave - Happy New Year to you - I'll do my best!

Hi Gail, great idea. You mention changing to premium themes. I have one website right now, but I do have a basic theme. Could you direct me to more info on using a premium theme and how to change my basic theme to a premium theme? I guess I worry about losing all my work by changing. Thanks for your advice. johnny

Hi Johnny. Thanks for your comment. You can change your free theme anytime in Wordpress in the dashboard. Just look under "Appearance" and then "Themes". I have changed my theme a couple of times but you need to check your site afterwards to make sure that things are still all there because each theme will have a different layout and the layout can change drastically sometimes. It's usually OK and fixable but might take some tweaking. Good to do a backup before changing things like themes anyway. As a premium member, you could always set up a sort of 'dummy' site on the siterubix platfrom to see how your theme will turn out and play with it on there before changing it on your main site. I have done that too.
The premium themes are paid themes and I've been looking at Thrive Themes and Divi but am going to go with Thrive Themes I think. I'll still have to do a bit of sorting out and restructuring but I think it will be worth it.
Hope it helps.

Great effort for 2019 Gail. Public accountabilty is a huge one. We are so friendly in WA, no one will judge you either. The platform allows us to be ourselves. And in that, your sharing will encourage me I know plus a million others. Big prosperous 2019 Gail.

Thanks Ken. I know WA is the perfect place to set goals and have others help you achieve them so I'm in a good place. All the best to you for this year too.
