You should have the code from mailchimp. You need to open a text widget in your sidebar and add that code to it.
I am pausing my membership here at WA and I would like to know if, when I cancel it, my three sites will work during the 30 day period WA gives to transfer the sites to a new host.

You can install Polylang plug-in.
I´m using it and it works well. I don´t use the automatic translator but I use the option that allows me to create my own content i different languages.

Any translation plugin you find is gonna be crap - so I've heard lol. You should talk to Loes. She does a site in english and a siterubix in her native tongue.
