Yearly WA Subscription: Is it worth it?
They say "a stitch in time saves nine". I think this is true because of my experiences. Through the years, I have learned not to delay or procrastinate when I have the opportunity to do something since I just don't know what might happen in the future.
My advice is, weigh your options and make a decision, the kind you will be able to live with down the road.
My Short Story.......
When I joined Wealthy Affiliate back in September I was happy with my free starter membership because I didn't have the luxury of making any payment at the time. OK, at the end of the first week, I took advantage of the discounted rate of $19 for the first month, which was still pretty good. In October, as my renewal date drew near, I started pondering about what to do because my financial situation had not really improved, so the question is, what do I do? Go monthly or save a ton with the yearly membership. I needed to make a decision NOW! So...........
I asked myself, is it really worth it to spend all that money at once for the yearly subscription?
In the last 5 weeks since joining WA; I have learned what I never thought I could know anything about, I have made new friends and come across some wonderful people, I have started laying the foundation for my own online business with the building of 2 websites. So the future is bright and.......
Today, after weighing my options, I made a decision to do something that is not convenient considering all I need to do with the funds at my disposal. What matters is that, I will be able to live with my decision to go yearly.....
Because I believe success is within my reach and it will be well with me.

TravelHacker hit on something that needs to be emphasized.
What we are all building here at WA requires commitment. The Starter membership is akin to someone who wants to go for a test drive..."kick the tires", so to speak. The monthly Premium membership is akin to renting a car...you can stop at any time with no problem. However, Going Yearly is when you truly take ownership of the "vehicle" and are fully committed.
I think there is a different mindset that manifests for each of these membership types.
Your analogies are great, Joshua. Very nicely done for a better understanding of the opportunities presented to us at WA.
Congratulations! Now we know you're the real deal, in this for the long haul. (As if we didn't already know that... :)
I completely agree with you, I am going yearly myself this Thursday 10/24/13. There is just too much value here at WA and I will save big by making the yearly jump.
I love the way you explained your reasons and the outlook you have towards the future, I have no doubt you will succeed. :)
Thanks Deb. It feels good knowing I don't have to think about renewal for 12 whole months. Getting it out of the way is a big relief for me.
I'm glad you've decided to do the same.
Congrats to you, Ade! Believe me--you made the right decision.
Not long ago, I was in your exact position: I also took advantage of the $19.00 first month deal; then wrestled with the question: "Is it worth it to go yearly?" Once I decided that it was, I was faced with the question of how to do it.
Because of medical issues, I have not had full time work for over two years and have survived by working three part-time "jobs" as I returned to school to finish up on a degree. Money is tight! Long/short...I managed to scrape the money together using some of the strategies found in the blogs below. Even if none of the strategies work for you, they may trigger some others that I did not mention.
All the best to you on your WA journey.
Joshua

Joshua, I have just read your blog on ways to save money and you made very interesting points. I have always thought that a lot of money is being wasted every month paying for cable subscription. How much TV do I even watch? I mean seriously, even when I watch, how many of the channels I'm being forced to pay for do I watch?
Thanks for asking that question. I have not earned any money yet. I've only been here for 5 weeks. But I believe if I work hard and focus, I will accomplish my goals. Making that yearly subscription is my commitment to follow through.
I think that you've got a great point of view. I've only been here a week and I haven't made money yet, but I know it takes time and work. Good job committing yourself!
This is what I believe. The yearly subscription is less than a dollar a day. When I look at it this way, and how much value I'm given each day, it is more than worth it. Good luck in your decision!

Excellent point Funmine. I've seen some questions from people asking if they should go premium. Even at $47 a month, where on earth can you own an office (WA platform), a store (your website) with all utilities included (website content), plus someone teaching you how to get it off the ground? Nowhere that I know of.
We all know you made the right decision.
Gordana, thank you very much for breaking it down for us the way you did. Good insights.
Don't forget...unlimited websites and hosting. That's worth plenty.
