Developing Your Expertise Takes Time
The most popular question in WA, "how long before I start making money?" Do you know why you can't make money overnight by creating a website and writing a couple of posts? I suppose some might have the expertise to do this, but I think many will take much longer. In my own experience, I find it takes awhile to become the trusted expert in your niche. If you are new to affiliate marketing, regardless of your niche, I think your posts will look and feel vastly different in a year than they do today. Given time you will be providing readers with better content, writing with more confidence, and tap into more prestigious affiliates who pay better. At one year, two years, and more you will have been educating yourself about your niche and your posts will be gaining more authority thus your ranking in Google and search engines will do better.
I chose a niche that I actually use in my everyday life, and I am amazed how much I have learned about my niche as a whole. We need a new website in our "brick and mortar" business, and I'm able to translate what I have learned through my affiliate marketing website to my other business.
It also takes time to establish yourself as a brand. Your website is your brand. You are developing yourself into an expert to the community. Even if enter the market as an expert in your chosen niche you will need to drive traffic to your site and build trust in your content. Waiting out this process is the part where patience is required - trial and error - adjustment and re-adjustment - write, write, write!
