Some of the trees around our garden have grown to extraordinary heights and are now no longer safe to allow them to continue reaching for the skies. It became apparent that we would have to engage a tree trimmer to cut them down to size.
I could not believe my eyes when I witnessed this young man climbing a tall spindly branch of the tree beside our home. He must have been at least 60 feet up with a rope attached through a fork in the branch and a chainsaw in his hand.
This is risk taking at its best. He was being paid to do this but was it really worth the risk?
Thats a question we all need to ask ourselves before we embark on a journey which is out of our comfort zone.
Do we have the right systems in place to secure our safety and reduce risk?
This young man has been trained to climb trees and use the safety ropes to reduce the risk of falling.The other risks are that the branch could break or he could slip with the chainsaw. However he believed in his own ability to face these challenges and completed the tsk without harm to himself or anyone else around.
He had done the training
He had someone watching out for him.on the ground
He had the right systems in place to keep him safe
He believed in himself and had confidence enough to do what was required.
Working online as many of us do, requires some risk taking too.
We risk making a fool of ourselves if we do not complete the task with confidence and skill.
We risk wasting hundreds even thousands of dollars if we don't get it right.
We also need training and ongoing support.

I have been well, just feeling the effects of getting older, not as energetic as I once was and tire more easily, but that's life.

Hi Reese, and thank you for commenting. For some the challenge of doing something like the tree climber would have them trembling in their boots , but we do all need training in whatever journey we take. The training here is awesome and should equip us well for our future business. We just have to stick with it.
