Rainbows In My Clouds

Tonight I heard this beautiful lady Dr Maya Angelou recall the people who had been kind to her through tough times throughout her life. These were the rainbows in her clouds.

It really resonated with me because I have had lots of tough times too and its is too easy to remember the difficulties and forget how we are able to rise above them. It is too easy to see the clouds and miss the rainbows.

We should all try to see the rainbows. They are so much brighter than the clouds. They are a symbol of hope, a promise of better things to come. If you would like to hear what Dr Maya Angelou had to say hit the link at the end.

If you feel you are under a cloud right now, look up and see the rainbow. It will be there somewhere. Then share your rainbow with someone else.

Maya had 10 rules for success.

1. Just do right

2. Be courageous

3. Love

4. Laugh

5. Be a blessing to somebody

6. Turn struggles into triumphs

7.Know you are talented

8. Learn to say no

9.Always do your best

10. Keep rising.

There is some wisdom there that we could all take a hold of. Perhaps write them out and put them on the wall where we will see them everyday.

We can change the world one rainbow at a time.

How inspiring Maya Angelou, I was always intrigue by her way with
pros and poetry.

Thanks for sharing this post!

Thank you Louisa, I have not read any of her work but I plan to now.

Lovely!

It took me a very long time to learn how to say no, btw. That was difficult. More than I care to admit.

PS: did you mean Maya, rather than Mary?

I did mean Maya, where did I put Mary?

I was like that too Ivy. They say if you want something done ask a busy person. But after awhile the busy person , without realizing it gets too busy then crashes. We have to learn to say NO sometimes.

You put Mary, check the image below.

To correct the typo, you see 21 top left hand corner, next to that is that wheel thing, click on that wheel thing and select edit. That is how you get rid of typos, :)

Thanks for that Ivy, I have corrected it now, I hope. Cheers.

Such wonderful ideas for success thank you for sharing.

I thought so too so was worth sharing. She is such an inspirational woman.
Thank you for reading

You are welcome

I'm going to have to make a list of those 10 rules for success and pin them to my Vision Board - such an inspiration!

Thanks for sharing Judy.

Did you see the Google tribute to Dr Angelou this week?

Hi and thank you for reading my post. I think she is an amazing woman who we have heard little about really.
I did not see the tribute to her. That's amazing, I just happen to come across her when on Youtube.

Oh OK. It would've been her 90th birthday. It was in celebration of that.

Indeed. She is amazing! Check out her book 'I know why caged birds live'
Best wishes.

Thank you Jackie, I will do that. I guess it will be on Amazon.

great post and great advice

Thanks. A very good thought for me this morning. I checked out your herb site and read the cannabis article, nice. left you a comment.- Shirley

Thank you Shirley, that is very kind of you. I hope you left me a link so I can reciprocate.
I was very inspired by Dr Maya so thought I should share it.

Thanks for this blog Judy and you are right we can change the world even if it is with one rainbow at a time. xxxx

Thanks Chez and yes we can. We can be the rainbows for others.
I read a book once by a young woman who emphasized that she was just an ordinary girl and she was going to change the world one person at a time. If we all did that, can you imagine?

Depending on who is doing the changing would depend on what the world would be like. If it were you and I, then the world would be an amazing place with world peace.

You are very welcome and I only wish it was just that easy. xxx

Judy, very beautiful thanks for sharing.

You are welcome , I thought it was beautiful too. I was blessed by her story and thought others might be too.
