Cut Your Losses and Get on with it.

Many of you will have noticed that several of my blogs stem from my on farm experiences.

Yesterday was one of those days when we had an issue we had to deal with which was not one we liked. It is never easy to make that decision to cut your losses and walk away from it but that is what we had to do. Here is what happened.

A young heifer cow was trying to give birth to a very large calf. We spent some time trying to help her deliver the calf but to no avail. After much pulling and groaning we called the vet. The vet spent some time trying and was unsuccessful too. The calf was by this stage dead inside the cow. The vet attempted to dissect the calf to bring it out in pieces but that was too difficult also.

The only option left to us was to put the cow down. She was otherwise young and healthy so as you can imagine it was a difficult decision but we really had no choice. She would have died with peritonitis if we had not , she would have continued to try to push the oversize calf out, causing more pain. We do not own a gun so late in the evening we had to call a neighbor to assist.

You might think because we are farmers that this would be easy, but let me tell you it is not. We love all of our animals and we feel for them when they suffer. Their pain becomes our pain. Cutting our losses in this instance was the only option.

Have you felt that something you are doing in your internet marketing is not working? No matter how hard you try or how many changes you make it still does not cut it. Then perhaps it is time to cut your losses and let go of that website and start over with something new and fresh. I know its hard to delete a weeks worth of work and start over.You may have put your heart and soul into it but if it just is not working then you need to make that life changing decision.

It may be that you have got on board some affiliate marketing program which has promised the world but just is not delivering. You have already spent several hundred dollars on this program so you really do not want to let go and before you know it another big chunk of money has been debited from your account. Get out. Cut your losses and get out otherwise it will just be more money don the drain.

You can move on then and treat that as a difficult situation which you resolved the only way you could. Do not look back ten, just move forward and put it down to experience.
