Trusting Your Gut - Site Ranked 1st Place on Google SERPS
It's been about a month now since my newly migrated and re-built site was published and I thought I'd give an update - mostly for my own sake - just so I can see what has been done, so that when I get into one those moods where I feel like nothing is being accomplished I'll be able to read this and smile. :-)
It's also been about a year since I joined WA and if you want to know the story of why I started over with a new site last month, you can read it here.

Basically I trusted my gut and began again and here's what's been going on to my great surprise:
- my new site 'sacredscribe' is ranking #1 on Google and Yahoo with the keywords 'sacred scribe services' ( my static new front page) using Google SERPS
- using the keyword 'sacred scribe' it's ranking #12 using Google SERPS
- my recent blog post Writing Close To The Bone is ranking #1 on Yahoo and Part Two of the same post is ranking #12 on Google, again using Google SERPS
- the page Divine Uttering is ranking #1 on Google (using SERPS)
- the page Sacred Scribe Blog ranking #11 on Google (using SERPS)
- the page Sacred Scribe Books is ranking #11 on Google (using SERPS)
- the website contains 56 posts and 12 pages with 109 approved comments.
- site health has moved into the orange range
- the bounce rate is at 63%
And all of this really means nothing much if there is no traffic, which there isn't, at least not anything significant.
This shows me that increasing traffic has got to become my main focus and that means content, content, content, and on a pretty regular schedule.
I consider the site still very much bare bones, and I've only just added an Amazon store and still need to write some reviews and research other affiliate opportunities. There's a ton of work that needs to be done on the archived posts I migrated over, like adding SEO and affiliate links, but I may forgo all of that right now and just focus on moving forward with the focus on new content. If anyone has any brilliant advice on this it would be most appreciated.
That's about it. This is the business of getting down to business and I needed to see that there was some progress being made, especially after the big switcheroo...
I love how all of this can happen alongside writing WA blogs that are often seemingly unrelated to the business at hand, having fun connecting with members and being inspired by many of them, feeling deeply the emotions of so many, taking part in the joys and trials and successes that are often expressed here, and continuing to learn the ropes as I go from all the 'legends' here who continue offer up their advice and experience.

Hi heather and well done now you say no traffic but how much is it really a day and it is just stable ???
Many thanks, Paul. The traffic has been up and down, and there were two times during the month when Google Analytics decided not to work. I will be focusing on content for now rather than checking for rankings. I'm just glad there is some action.

It had to be hard to make the decision to start over after a year but you did it. The good thing is all of the training you've had so far has made it easier for you to get your website up faster than your first one. It doesn't matter what the reasons are that you started over, you did, it was your choice and it works for you. That is what matters.

Btw, was great to notice your rank this morn, I thought of you, so I checked. I was remembering when Ambassadors when only 12 and not 25, and how when I reached 13 you kept on encouraging me. .
I reached 12 again a few hours ago, it brought me back in time, how we became close friends quickly, and have remained. We've been through alot together since, and I wouldn't change a thing :)

Yes we have shared some moments here and support offline too. also gained much experience in many aspects of life as well not just for WA sake either.
I remember the top 12 too. Not to worry about my ranking I am letting it slide as I am not interested in ranking been at 3 so just happy to be a member for now and encouraging others if I can.
