Could One Quote Change The World?

As a writer, I have a ton of quotes that I've collected over the years. All of them hastily hand-written as I scratched them onto the pages of a zillion different journals.

Sometimes I will find one of these journals buried under a pile of books or papers and tonight that's exactly what happened.

I've just sat down with a tea, and Van Morrison is playing in the background. Flipping through the journal I've found one of my most favorite quotes and wanted to share it.

It's from an incredible book on a near death experience called, My Descent Into Hell, by Howard Storm.

"Every person, without exception, needs to be loved by us. This is the most difficult and most important lesson of our life."

It's true that it can be difficult to love those who are mean or cruel, but the good thing about love and compassion is that it can be offered silently to anyone and everyone from anywhere, often without them ever knowing.

How's that for a way to change the world?

I'm kinda really liking this thought as the day ends..so glad to have come across this quote again.

Here's a little Van Morrison - http://bit.ly/1HKELI7

Till next time.

Warmly, Heather :-)

Hi Hearher as always you have inspiring writing and great creativity

Thanks, Paul.

Great thoughts Heather, lovely music:)
I always say:

"Teach the children well and we can change the future in a decade"

Thanks, Loes. So glad you enjoyed. Love your quote - it is the truth. Have a beautiful day. Warmly, Heather :-)

So true Loes.......but what happens when parents teach/indoctrinate their children to hate others and will stop at nothing to achieve their warped aims for no reason other than they are different to them?
There's too much of that going on all around us.
Mark

Have a sunny day too Heather:)

Van. Always has a place. Anywhere I'm around.

You know it, Geoff! Van is the Man...Enjoy the day. Warmly, Heather :-)

Hello, Heather. I also added some pictures. I added two Army Band pics of units that I was in and I added a firefighting picture. Just wanted to change things up some. See ya later:) Dave.

Oh, that's great Dave! Thanks for letting me know. I'm gonna head over and take a look. It's fun to change things up now and then. :-)

Hi Heather nice blog, as a musician I always felt that Van Morison was the epitome of musicians. He was the true professional in his craft.
He always put on a good show and learned the sax in 6 months.
Thanks for the inspiration,

Marty

Hey Marty...I would have to agree with you on that. Van Morrison is one of the greatest musicians in the world. And just like the title of one of his albums, No Guru, No Method. No Teacher, he walks his talk with great humility. Glad you enjoyed. Warmly, Heather :-)

Brilliant qoute Heather, at times we think we can not change much at all but we can. Enjoy your cuppa.
Alexander

Thanks, Alexander. You are so right. Every individual holds much power within. The trick is to become aware of it, then utilize it for the benefit of all. Warmly, Heather :-)

Beautiful quote as always Heather! In Buddhist teaching sending loving kindness to difficult people is a common practice. After all they need it most - and if they soften even just a little, it benefits ourselves as well as them...
Magical music from one of my own 'Van the man' thanks so much for sharing.
Love and hugs....

Thanks, Lorna. The Buddhist teachings are beautiful.
