Hey Frank,
You've obviously paid for privacy for your domain registration. This can be a good thing. So ... as Marion Black already stated, if nothings changed you can ignore the notice.
Thank you Trish.
I was offered the first year of privacy free. I pay from now on if I keep the service.
I will start with WhoisGuard and make enquiries. Shows you need to know what you are getting into.
Thank you Marion. Maybe I need to check WhoisGuard's details.
This is a bit like owning shares through a nominee company.

Thank you Iris and Sam. It is the first time I have used WhoisGuard. I get these notices to keep my details up to date every so often and until now they have been my details.

Some friends in my generation are scared of computers and the Internet and even avoiding taking action. Yet it seems some of those same people would be happy to take the plunge
Actually, I want to get people to use the excellent automatic backup service. I am an affiliate for it.
Should I treat it as an isolated product or take a holistic approach and treat it as one part of getting the best use out of your PC?
I also have a web site about spreadsheets which I have been neglecting. So that could be used later.
Hello Frank
this is a great niche , as a lot of older people are afraid to use computer . My Mom is 78 years old , I given her a tablet and my kids taught her how to use it . Now she don,t want to miss it . She is now a big fan of Facebook . She does most of her shopping now online ... \
cheers Sylvia
Hi Sylvia.
I am glad your mother is getting good use out of her computer. Being able to shop online can be a boon for people who find visiting a shop difficult or inconvenient.
I hope I stay out of an old people's home but, if I get into one, I will fight to have my computer with me.
Less likely to end up in one if I do well in Internet marketing.
Hi Frank
I too am of the generation where i was not introduced to computers in school and had to learn little by little. Sounds like you have a good niche going for you. I know I would visit your site!
Good Luck!
Hi Robin.
I am choosing backing up as my niche because I am now an affiliate to an affiliate to an automatic incremental backup service, meaning computer files get backed up whenever they change. Of course, at the beginning, no computer files are backed up.
Each file to be backed up has changed from the point of view of the backup service.
Feel free to ask if you think I might be able to help, whether about how to do something on the computer or even marketing. I wou ld try to help but there is never a guarantee.

Could I please have some feedback about my intended niche?

Suppose I want to discuss any of my web sites or affiliate programs.
Am I permitted to give the name of the website, affiliate program, company when asking advice? I wou
Hi Sylvia.
I got answers as you can see below. They are slightly different. I will take the view - no affiliate URLs, do not tout for business.
How are things going? I am reading Kyle's "Traffic Explosion" now and will try to get a domain made of nice keywords.
Thank you for your interest.
Its okay to discuss names, but adding url's for affiliates or websites isn't supposed to happen in WA posts. You can add URLs to pms.
Thank you, Jim.
This is what I have inferred from your answer.
I could say I have a website that does something but not I have www(dot)something(dot)com.
I could say I am an affiliate for Specific Company's product, Product.
In a private message, the restrictions do not apply as long as the information is asked for?
As I was submitting my first reply to your answer, a message in red appeared to the effect that URLs cannot contain parameters e.g. "/?value=123".
That may be so that people are cutting the personal code off the end of the urls that they share. For example, if you click on affiliate anywhere here in WA you get a url with our personal link so that you can share in a site or email. I guess those are supposed to be cut off even in a pm. This would hold true for an affiliate link from any site.
although it is said you are not supposed to, many do, not intentionally or directly but it is done
Thank you, Sylvia,
I actually want to get an opinion about a set of niches. It would appear from your answer that I need to generalize, not give specific names or URLs.
I will put the next question in general terms. That is the question I really want to ask. I thought I should get the spam question out of the way first.
