How To Live Your Best Life

Hi, WA Friends

Are you living your best life? Everyone has a somewhat different idea of what it means to live life to the fullest.

Some people are hardcore achievers and work tirelessly to make things happen. Others think everything should be easy and the world should be handed to them.

I like to have balance in all things, so I try to sit in the middle of these two extremes.

Remember, life is short. Even if you live to be one hundred years old, it will be gone before you know it.

Here are some things you can do to live your best life.

1. Look ahead. The earlier you begin to organize your life, the more likely you are to build it in your image.

If education plays an essential part in your life, make it a priority. It's never too late to learn or keep learning! Get that degree you always wanted or learn a new language. Any type of education can only lead to a better you. Be a lifetime learner!

2. Work hard and have a "Plan B." A backup way to earn a living is a great idea. You never know what's going to happen in life. Having something to fall back on is a good strategy. Wealthy Affiliate is a great way to create a full-time or another part-time income.

Save money for a rainy day and invest in things that will bring you value down the road. Some people buy real estate, stocks, bonds, or precious metals. Do what works best for you, and it will help you look forward to an excellent retirement.

3. Take great care of yourself! Treat your mind and body right. It's the most important investment you can make in a happy and healthy future! Exercise, eat right (I'm still working on both these things), and see your Doctor routinely.

4. Learn to love life. The best things in life are free if you know where to look! Make it a habit to "stop and smell the roses." Burning yourself out will get you nowhere fast.

My wife, music, and movies help bring me happiness on a daily basis! Find what works best for you.

If you're retired, live each day like it's your last. It's never too early to build your "bucket list" and take action on it. Don't let your hopes and dreams pass you by.

5. Embrace family and friends. Enjoy them all you can if you're lucky enough to have a great family. I was blessed to be born into a phenomenal Italian family, and I have relished every minute over the years.

You can't pick your family, but you can choose your friends. Choose wisely, and the quality of your life will improve exponentially. Negative people will only bring you down with them.

6. Finally, the most crucial point of all --> Balance, balance, balance in all things!

Learn to work hard but play harder. Nobody wants a life of constant drudgery. Neutralize every sacrifice with an indulgence.

If you live a "scheduled life," then schedule some break, play, and "me" time into every day. Put it right into your scheduling app!

Everyone needs some time to themselves to relax and put things in perspective. Build a man cave, she shed, or whatever makes you happy, and spend time there as much as possible.

Remember, vacations are a good thing. You don't necessarily need to travel. Plan a trip you always wanted to take or a "StayCation" to enjoy your home doing whatever makes you happy.

So, what are you doing to live your best life?

A happy life, for me, is the best life. If I can wake up with a smile on my dial and go to bed in the same way, life is great.
Stop and eat the 🌺 flowers.
Life is great and as long as we can laugh, dance, sing, love and have the basic stuff . Food and a roof over our heads…
Stephen

Absolutely, Stephen! 👍

All we really need are the basics and then our attitude and ideas are what make our lives meaningful and happy! 😎

Hi Frank...that's some wonderful advice. Live in the moment and learn to appreciate the small things.

My father-in-law lived to be almost 98 and he always stressed the need to do everything with balance, especially food and drink. That being said, he enjoyed daily desserts and nightcaps "to settle his stomach." I think good genes also help.

But you've raised some great points. Live life to the fullest and make it count.

Susan

Thanks, Susan!

We all have to enjoy ourselves to get the most out of life. 😊

Good genes definitely count

Frank

Hi Frank,

I love your sage advice. Can't add anything to that. Our family is scattered all over the world so we rarely see each other. But we keep in regular contact via voice and video chat.

My wife recently returned from visiting her sister in India. In a couple of years, I will be visiting my sister's family in the south of Spain for her daughter's wedding.

While there I will also visit family and friends in England.

I love living in Southern California. I pinch myself to think that thousands of visitors come here every day for their vacation. When I took my granddaughter to Hollywood Boulevard last week, we felt like tourists ourselves.

Tomorrow we will be taking the train to Santa Barbara where she can dip her feet in the ocean. We're traveling business class to make it special.

Frank, these are examples of creating memories for Diana. And ourselves too.

When she returns on the 20th of August, my work schedule will return in earnest to create a legacy for our family.

Thanks for bringing up this important point about living one's life in earnest.

Cheers.

Edwin

Thanks, Edwin!

You have some exciting trips coming up in the next few years.

I’m glad you’re taking some time to enjoy your family!

Have fun tomorrow! 😊

"You can't pick your family, but you can choose your friends. Choose wisely, and the quality of your life will improve exponentially." YES. WA is also good for you and will get better over time.
It is good to have some routines and rewards.
Thank you, Frank, that was an excellent post, filled with iron sharpening iron and so the inner workings of cherished friends!
Right on my path right when I needed it.
