Have You Seen The New Bing Featured Snippet With ChatGPT Integration?
Hi, WA friends!
Have you seen the new Bing featured snippet in the search results? I was checking the search results for my latest guitar website article, and I found this.
Ah ha! Now the Bing featured snippet gives searchers the option to go to the published article, click on one of the ChatGPT options below it (the three red arrows) or enter type a message for chapGPT to answer (single red arrow)!
In addition, if you refresh the bing search results page, it will give you different ChatGPT options to click on, one of which was "What are some guitar tips for beginners."
When I clicked on the above ChatGPT question, it gave me the following output.
My website came up as reference number three above.
So, ChatGPT turned the position zero (featured snippet) search result into a "super featured snippet," meaning that it is no longer the coveted search spot that most people will click on that guarantees your article will be shown because other options are now available!
Of course, having your search results appear in the featured snippet is still the best-case scenario.
Also, if someone searches "Can you play an electric guitar unplugged," my article still answers the question best, so it has the highest probability of being clicked on, not the ChatGPT suggestions. However, "Is there a summary" and "Can you explain in simple terms" could be a bit competitive.
My guess is that we will be in a similar organic search situation with Google launches Bard. But, of course, that remains to be seen.
Please feel free to comment below with your thoughts and any additional information you may have. π

Hi, Maria
Yeah, I think Bard will be launched shortly, and I highly doubt Google will take second place to Microsoft's AI integration. In my mind, it's not even remotely possible. π
Rock On! π€

Hi Maria, me too. I can't wait for Google Bard. Bard is much more advanced than MS Bing Chat.
Did you read Sundar, the CEO of Google, wrote this announcement? It's still in beta testing. I hope it will be soon.

Yes, I'd like to know if the keywords we see below are from the first page like we see when we search. That is what I am curious to find out. It will be different because the other two do not have Language Model for Dialogue Applications (LaMDA) processing. Bard will have that. It's cool. Sundar explained it well and wondered how Discover would be used in Bard.
Yeah, the entire Bard implementation is going to be amazing! I'm getting quite a few Discover hits, and I hope that further improves with Google's AI.
Of course! Thatβs why I canβt wait!
The SUSPENSE is killing me!!!π±π±π±????????π€―π€―
Hi, Myra
That's because Microsoft owns just under half (49%) of ApenAI. π
They are trying to compete with Google, which is about to launch Bard, their search engine integrated AI.

Yes, I have seen it. I found it fascinating. This might be good for us. Our blog post might appear as a snippet featured in Bing Chat. I found it better than ChatGpt-3 because it listed four or five website snippets we can research further, which are our competitorsβgiving us more tools for more profound research.
Yes, Brenda.
I believe we may be able to use it for our benefit. We shall see. ππ₯

That would be cool to see your website listed as snippets, and maybe you get more sales. I wonder if those were from paid ads to get featured snippets or random search engines without paid ads? I asked that question, and I didn't get an answer. ChatGPT-3 might.
The featured snippet of my article in my blog above was from Bing organic traffic using my keyword.
I have yet to see any ChatGPT options attached to Bing paid ads.
Ah, Frank, pardon me-Duh me, sorry, my senior moment. I am a dang tired man. I didn't notice the top screenshot was yours. I overlooked it. Dumb me. That is what happens to the time change affects my sleepy brain. So it's good to know that Bing ChatGPT has no options attached to Bing ads. I wonder about Google Bard. We will wait and see.
No rest for the weary. I have grading to do and then write my article so I hope to be done later this afternoon. I promise I will nap before Tim's class tonight.

I think features like this are going to mean we will be getting less traffic to our websites.
If people can just get a summary or simple version by clicking on one of the Chat GTP, why would they open our posts?
It also means that there is the potential to more-easily censor the information that people are 'allowed' to see.
Hi, Andrew
I tend to agree with you. There will be new challenges associated with this search engine technology.
On the other hand, it will make our workflow much more productive, which should balance things out.
Since it's not going away, we have to find new ways to co-exist with it profitably.
