Hi WA Friends!

Please help me celebrate Juneteenth!

A Little History

Juneteenth is a holiday that celebrates the end of slavery in the United States. It is held on June 19th every year. On this day in 1865, enslaved people in Texas learned they were free, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth is a time for joy, remembering history, and spending time with family and friends. People celebrate with parades, music, and food.

And The List Goes On And On!

This list certainly is not even close to being all-inclusive! I could go on forever adding additional guitarists who changed my life, like Albert King, Freddie King, Albert Collins, Robert Cray, Robert Johnson, etc., etc.!

Be Sure To Enjoy It!

So, have a great Juneteenth, which is a federal holiday in the USA, so you might as well take the day off and join in the festivities. I've been listening to my favorite African American artists all day and will watch a B. B. King concert tonight.

The Late Prince is one of my personal favorite. Plus he was from my home state so ...I feel like he was extra special!

Thanks for sharing! I did a story on Juneteenth last year. I didn't even know AI was a thing I could use last year so my article was 100% human written after research.

Take care!
