Happy Birthday Stanley Jordan!
Hi WA Friends
Have you heard of this guitar genius, who approaches his instrument more like a keyboard? His melodic tapping approach to Jazz is legionary among musicians everywhere!
Stanley changed my world musically from the first time I heard him play.
Check out this action, where Stanley is playing two guitars at once!

It probably wouldn't surprise you to learn that Stanley started on piano and switched to the guitar. He studied music at Princeton University.
Mr. Jordan has played with performers like Stanley Clarke, Billy Cobham, and Kevin Eubanks!
You owe it to yourself to check out his music. I'd recommend the albums "Magic Touch" and "Relaxing Music For Difficult Situations" to get you started.
Happy Birthday, Stanley, You're Amazing!

Yes, Barbara
Definitely have a listen! It will be a new and wonderful musical experience! ๐
Let me know what you think.
Frank
Thanks, Frank! I will do that! I have been too busy to do anything but work on my struggling website and then try and catch up and post consistently again! I haven't had any free time during the month of July. It was a bad month for everything. I am counting on August for improvement and getting ahead instead of just trying to catch up!
I will definitely get to the place in which I can have more free time to enjoy music and hunt down the good stuff.
thanks very much, Frank!
Barbara
That sounds great, Barbara!
I always have music streaming on my laptop whenever Iโm writing content for my site or anything else I do.
It makes the time go buy quickly and pleasantly!
Give it a try,
Frank
I would love to. I'm just not sure how to find specific music anymore I haven't listened to it in quite a while.
I usually just have news on. That's probably a mistake.
Thanks, Frank!
Barbara
Hi, Barbara
You can stream a lot of free music on YouTube, with or without video! Type in the musical artist's name and you're all set.

I'm not sure if I do or not, Frank, but I will give it a listen when I get the chance! Happy Birthday to Mr, Jordan!

Frank, I am enjoying your insights into these amazing musicians.
I know that Stanley has performed with Quincy Jones and Dizzy Gillespie.
And, of course, he is famous for his touch technique. ๐
That is the sum total of what I know about him.
Your blog post has motivated me to learn some more and I will, for sure.
Thank you for sharing with us.
By the way, congratulations on your rise through our WAmbassador ranks. ๐ถ๐๐
You are a shining example.
Cassi
Hi, Cassi
I'm very impressed with your musical knowledge! ๐ ๐
Yes, Stanley has played with a huge list of top musicians. You can stream his music, and there are also two videos available, which I listed above for Bob.
Stanley not only invented a new way to play guitar, he takes music to a whole new level! His touch/tap technique is totally different than what Eddie Van Halen did. Stanley plays harmony with one hand and melody with the other, like a keyboard player.
Eddie's playing was based on tap harmonics and extending what was happening melodically with his left hand. It was such a tragedy to lose him!
Two different techniques that produce two very different sounds!
I decided to try to blog about music at WA since medical topics are too much like what happens at work, and I don't have an MMO site to blog about.
One of my Google calendars is filled with the birthdays of hundreds of musicians, so I can make it a point to listen to their music or watch their concert videos on that day.
I realize there are WA members who only want to read about topics that can help their affiliate marketing business, and I totally respect that. I hope I am not offending them in any way.
I trust that your three-day holiday weekend is going wonderfully!

Absolutely no offence here and, I am sure with many others.
Creativity emanates from everywhere and everything.
When I read blog posts about different things, I become inspired and motivated to take off the beaten track angles.
Very helpful indeed.
Plus, I learn something new. ๐
My musical knowledge comes only from researching musicians, songwriters, and composers I have grown to like over the years.
It is more the attraction to what I hear and how the lyrics resonate.
It is the same for most of us. I am certain.
Music tells life stories and that is why we love it.
It is a wonderful weekend and I am still able to get some work in.
Have a productive week.
Cassi
Thanks Cassi!
Music is the true universal language, worldwide.
Iโll bet that you can play the opening riff to โI Canโt Get No Satisfactionโ anywhere in the world and someone will start singing the words in English!
Youโre probably singing it now! ๐

When I first arrived in New Zealand, I was walking through Christchurch aimlessly.
I could hear faint calypso music and thought that my mind was playing tricks on me.
It made me homesick.
The music became louder.
I walked up to a small pawn shop and there was this Australian Rasta dude blasting soca and calypso from Trinidad!
Who would have thought?
We became good friends and I would spend hours with him in his shop playing records that people pawned.
He had never been to Trinidad but met a Trinidadian cricketer in Australia who gave him some records.
He became hooked. ๐
Music and food are universal.
They both feed the soul.
Cassi
Absolutely, Cassi & such an eloquent example of what we are discussing! ๐

Thank you, Frank. ๐
