Google Chrome Update
Hi, WA Friends
I was going to write about how the 5th Dimension (not the pop band) may hold the key to uncoupling weak gravitational forces from electromagnetism (did you ever wonder how you can raise your arm against the gravitational force produced by the mass of the entire planet Earth?), but then I came to my senses and decided to write about the new Google Chrome update instead.
The new Google Chrome browser has two new updates.
First, it incorporates Google Lens into the browser to identify images using technology similar to the Cloud Vision API that Diane (Scorpio) spoke about in an earlier post.
Here's a screenshot from Google's demo that shows the Lens window on the right side identifying a famous structure in the picture after right-clicking on the image and selecting "Search Image With Google Lens."
Here's a photo of Archimedes that I searched in Chrome with Google Lens. As you can see, it identified the image correctly. His name was not present in the photo.
The Google Lens window also provided me with other images of Archimedes and could identify where the image originated. Pretty convenient to have built into each browser tab!
The second new feature is less useful but allows you to view pdf files full-size. Open any pdf in Google Chrome, select the three vertical ellipses in the pdf viewer window, and then select "present" from the drop-down menu.
Here's the screenshot from Chrome:
Here's how a pdf in "present" mode looks. It does give you an image that is minimally larger than just selecting "enter full screen" from the Google Chrome "View" menu, but it's certainly nothing to get excited about!
As a bonus, did you know that if you accidentally close a tab in Google Chrome, you can get it back by right-clicking on the Chrome Tab Bar and selecting "Reopen closed window?" That's been a real lifesaver for me over the years!
So, how do you get the latest version of Google Chrome? Close the Chrome browser you have running and open a new one. The app will be automatically updated.
Be sure to check it out!

Hi, Rosana
I think you will really like Google Chrome, but Firefox is a good browser too. You can use both and decide for yourself. ๐

Another thing on my ever-growing list that I am way behind on Frank! I might already have it for all I know, but I just choose to keep doing what I do with what I know right now!

Hi, Jeff
If you use the Chrome browser, you'll find the Google Lens feature very useful! ๐

Very interesting Frank, I happy that you chose to write about this update and not the 5th dimension electromagnetism thing!:-)
I did notice something about this Google Lens the other day when my chromebook updated, but haven't had the time to play around with it yet!
It's getting late here now and still bloody hot, so maybe tomorrow if I have time !! :-)
Thanks, Nick!
Get some rest and stay cool!
I may still do a very brief update on gravitons that escape from a fourth dimensional frame of reference since it's on the agenda of the new large hadron collider. ๐

I managed to get some rest Frank, but staying cool is proving tricky!
Sounds interesting my friend and funnily enough I am still in Geneva! :-)
Have a great weekend, Nick! ๐
Cheers Frank, you too!๐ป
