It is a good tactic to scattergun posts Francine. I just answered your other one. You're on the right track saturating the community for solutions. The expertise can mentor you well!
WOW, I know the feeling, we did this years ago and got nothing. So I took our domain and developed the website myself. I wasn't even part of WA at the time. It was just me and youtube videos. Since joining WA, it is just set by step instructions when you follow the training. I knew nothing at all when I did my page except that I was tired of giving my money to someone else.
Good luck, ask questions and trust me there is always someone that will know the answer. Never, never be afraid to ask for help, as we have all had to ask something at some point.
We are all newbies, some are just further along. I hope you get this resolved very quickly and to your satisfaction.

WOW-You are missing a lot of fun engaging with the WA community and learning a hell of a lot about Online marketing and building a website; and is paying dearly for the lost opportunity.
This is all absolute BS Francine, you are being taken advantage of. I would try everything to get rid of these charges/cancel them and get a refund. Your email/info is also being used to distribute to spam companies.
I would try everything to cancel this and do the training in WA.
Wow! Not knowing the scope of the project, it is difficult to think other than the web designer is ripping you off.
My two cents is that I enjoy the journey here of building and developing something. I have never built a website before, but I am learning a tremendous amount. That is a lot of money. You can learn so much about building a site right here at WA. Of course it is your decision and your money. I wish you the best with whatever decision you make.
Wow, you are being taken advantage of. I've designed sites for a number of clients (more than a dozen) and would only charge that much if it was a fully functioning eCommerce site with weekly/monthly updates. And the SEO would be included in the cost. Besides that, I only ask for half down, I build the site on a sandbox site of mine until they like and approve it, and then I move it to their domain and collect the remaining fee. I would ask for my money back if I were in your shoes. Hate to hear this, it really stinks. Best of luck!!! :-)
