On the feature comparison chart of WA it is said that premium members gat free access to 51,973 Website Feature “Add Ons” (which are not available to Starter membe

Is there any update on this post? Are the featured "add-ons" the plugins for wordpress??

Are there any plugins that have been disallowed?

Hi - free starter members are not allowed to add plugins to their websites, neither can they change themes.

So, I presume, the add-ons are the plugins of which there are tens of thousands, and the website designs are the themes, of which there are now over 7000 to choose from.

One plugin which is not recommended and has been banned in the past is Jetpack.

Thank you so much! I assumed it was plugins but I wanted to be sure.

Do you know if there is a list of plugins we cannot use? I'm about to transfer some of my site and I want to be sure the plugins are allowed.

Also, is it possible to actually transfer and entire site to WA hosting or do you purchase the domain and rebuild? Some of my sites don't have much traffic so I can rebuild but some do have traffic.

Sorry to ask so many questions!

Thank you!

Hey Francesco,

You shocked me with that question as I have NEVER seen WA ever claim what you stated. However, I just had to Google search to see where you might have seen it... and, yes, I found a SiteRubix website owned by a Ruth F. who made this claim.

Others who used the number 51,973 were ALL referring to website plugins and add-ons that are available to be used.

Just because you read it on the internet does not necessarily mean that it is true.

There are soooo many different FREE themes for you to choose from that I have no way of counting them... perhaps that's what the author of what you read meant.

There are new tools that WA issued all Premium members earlier this year. Here are Carson's announcements on those: Hope you find this helpful.

Hi Trish
thanks for answering my question
actually the place where I found that claim is much less exotic:
it is stated in the page below (which we all can use to promote WA) and highlights the advantages to be a Premium member VS a Starter account.
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/order/signup
it also claims that

"There are over 51,000 “feature” extensions available within Premium that you can use to ENHANCE your website in every imaginable way. Everything from building membership sites, adding shopping carts to your site, image/design plugins, font plugins, and plugins for managing social aspects of your business. These are FREE and installed on your website with a click of a button!"

Now since I am a Premium and anyone who (hopefully) will subscribe thanks to my referral migh be asking about it, I wanted to shed some light on this topic...
Furthermore I am evaluating the option to create a membership site and a store myself and i wanted to check out the "FREE “feature” extensions available within Premium", but i could not find them.

If this represents the number of free plugins available in Wordpress I believe that this claim is at least misleading (if not false), because anyone using Wordpress has access to those plugins even if they do not subscribe a Premium account at WA.

A similar strange claim is made about free themes that according to the same page are only 10 for Starter account and more than 3000 for Premium.

thanks
Francesco

Hey Francesco,

The free features referred to are the many free plugins that are available to help webmasters add specific features to their websites.

As you claim that free features is misleading... how about the well-known American hosting company who TV commercials claim that you can have a professional website setup in under an hour.

Same sort of advertising... and is not misleading in the least. Why would I say this... simply because you CAN get a professional website setup in minutes... considering that WordPress is professionally coded for use by millions of users.

Picking apart WA's advertising campaign with me or anyone else in the community is truly lost on us as we have no control of WA's claims.

If you are unsatisfied in any way, then you need to reach out to the owners of WA in a private message and ask them explain.

Hope you find this helpful.

Hey Francesco,

I recently moved one of my sites here too. The following tutorial is what I referred to: That and staying in constant touch with SiteSupport until the move was totally completed.
