Self Acceptance
As I sit over the long weekend working on very boring reports to be ready for presentation on Tuesday, my mind tends to wander, just to keep me sane - so I thought I would write out my thoughts as a rewarding break.
My mind wandered off to self-acceptance and how our self-image gets affected when we find it difficult to accept our past.
When we learn to accept ourselves as we are, warts and all, the easier it becomes to accept responsibility for our lives ... today and now.
By not taking responsibility for our lives, we tend to live in the past. The way to start accepting responsibility is by practicing principles like surrender, honesty, faith and humility - it helps relieve us of the burden of our past mistakes. We find our attitude changing when we apply these principles in our daily lives, resulting in the growth of our self-acceptance.
I talk from experience and to myself ... sometimes I forget how far I have come when I sit feeling sorry for myself because of things like having to work the whole weekend. So this is just a reminder to myself and perhaps it might help someone else who might be at a place in their life because of past choices.

Thank you for these words about attitude and looking at things in a way that helps us focus better on the here and now.

You have great insight and I too have learned that the past can't change a thing, only what we do in the present has an effect on our future. We do our best and move on! Thanks for your post!
I'm starting to think that perhaps one should be grateful for the past to get you going on the future
I agree that the times comes when we have to stop living in the past. We focus on the present and accept who we are and how things are. But we can work on improving our lives if we are not satisfied.
Absolutely, I have always been one to think that frustration is your mind's way of telling you that change is inevitable
As long as you know how you have take responsibility for your acts, you are heading the right way.
You're already more than halfway through this long weekend. your ordeal :) is almost over!
You are totally worthy of self and other's acceptance. You are headed in the right direction to prove to yourself and anyone else, that your inner being is powerful and productive!
You have everything you need within yourself!
I am cheering for you!
